Minor Details: Games of July 3

The Twins came oh-so-close to another sweep.  ByungHo Park adds some power to his recent good batting.  Levi Michael hits a three-run homer as Stephen Gonsalves continues to pitch well.  Two big innings are enough for the Miracle.  Anthony Marzi leads the Kernels.  Edwar Colina is pitching well for Elizabethton.  The GCL Twins lose in part because of the goofy extra-innings rule.  Walks and errors give the DSL Twins a win.

Carlos Vargas hit a two-run homer in the eighth to put the Rays ahead 2-1.  The Twins tied it in the ninth on an RBI double by Benjamin Rodriguez.  For the first time in a Twins game, we saw the rule that an extra inning starts with a man on second.  The Twins immediately lost him when he was thrown out trying to go to third on a grounder to the pitcher, and a double play ended the inning.  In the Rays half, a hit batsman put men on first and second and an error on a sacrifice bunt allowed the winning run to score.
