  3. I asked recently why Sano is just playing every other day in Fort Myers. From what I've read, the Twins are basically looking at this as a second spring training for Sano. He plays one day and works on his conditioning and mechanics on the other day. We'll see if it works.

      1. I actually like this approach, and I'm inclined to think that the move was motivated to some degree by attitude in addition to mechanics. He's got to figure out that carrying extra pounds can impact his legs and his ability to stay on the field. He's got plenty of talent, but I sometimes think he needs more discipline to go with it.

        1. Not hard to imagine "superstar" 25-year-old thinking he's invincible and has it all figured out.

    Rochester trails Scranton/Wilkes-Barre 3-1 through seven. Nick Gordon is 2-for-3 so far. Byron Buxton is not in the lineup.
    Chattanooga trails Biloxi 3-1 through seven. Sean Poppen pitched 6.2 innings, giving up three unearned runs on six hits. He walked none and struck out five.
    Fort Myers defeated Bradenton 8-3. Alex Kirilloff was 3-for-5 with a double and is batting .471 (8-for-17) since being promoted to high-A. Miguel Sano is not in the lineup.
    Cedar Rapids leads Wisconsin 4-3 in the bottom of the fifth. Jean Carlos Arias hit a three-run homer, his third.
    Elizabethton trails Bristol 4-0 in the eighth. Lean Marrero is 2-for-3 and is 6-for-11 so far. Ryan Jeffers is 0-for-3, dropping his average to .611.
    The GCL Twins lost to the GCL Red Sox 3-1. Steven Cruz struck out six in four hitless innings, walking one.
    The DSL Twins lost to the DSL Rockies 6-2 in a rain-shortened game. The Twins made five errors.

          1. Nope. At this point, I'd like to see them either give Garver the job full time or bring up one of the AAA catchers and see what they can do. Or, of course, trade for a young catcher and give him a shot. But we know Bobby Wilson will never be anything. Let's see if we have anybody else who can be.
