Good news in the minors!

PENSACOLA 3, BILOXI 2 IN PENSACOLA

Travis Blankenhorn's RBI single in the fifth gave the Blue Wahoos a 3-2 lead.  Alex Kirilloff was 2-for-4 with a home run, his third of the series.  Ryan Costello was 1-for-2 with a home run and a walk.  Jordan Balazovic struck out seven in 4.2 innings, giving up two runs on three hits and no walks.  Dakota Chalmers struck out four in 3.1 scoreless innings, giving up two walks.  Anthony Vizcaya struck out three in a scoreless inning, giving up one hit.

Pensacola stays alive in the series, but continues to trail the best-of-five series 2-1.  This was the Blue Wahoos' only home game of the series.

CEDAR RAPIDS 4, QUAD CITIES 2 IN QUAD CITIES

The Kernels scored two in the fourth to take a 3-0 lead.  Gabe Snyder was 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, and two runs.  Wander Javier was 2-for-4 with a triple.  DaShawn Keirsey was 2-for-4 with a double.  Josh Winder struck out seven in six innings, giving up six hits and no walks.  Austin Schulfer pitched 2.1 innings, giving up an unearned run on two hits and a walk and striking out one.

Cedar Rapids wins the series 2-1.  The road team won each game of the series.  The Kernels move on to the semifinals, which are again best-of-three.
