(I double booked a CoC apparently, so I'm just going to post it today.)
Getting ready for bed, I'm usually listening to stuff on my headphones. Tunes, podcasts, what have you. Anyway, I'm sure this has never happened before, but my sonic-y toothbrush perfectly matched the key of the song I was listening to. Like, the song and my toothbrush could have jammed.
I remember sitting on the tractor and hearing "Low Down" by Boz Scaggs -- the first two notes of the guitar solo sounded just like the call signal from the business band radio.
Gleeman does the math and determines the Twins' postseason rotation will be López, Gray, and Ryan. All three are lined up already and would have an extra day of rest for their starts. Sounds like Maeda will be in the bullpen with Ober instead starting today.
Gausman on the mound tonight; we should see what Pablo will need to secure the AL K leadership.
Gausman has 232 strikeouts to López's 228. Gausman had 30 starts so that's 7.7 K/game. Let's assume 8 for 240 strikeouts. Therefore López needs 13 to surpass him. However, that assumes Gausman doesn't get one more start at the end of the year whereas López won't.
Cole is next at 217 so unlikely he will leap ahead unless he gets a 23-K game. Ryan is eighth in the league at 191 strikeouts. I'm hoping he gets at least nine to reach 200.
Only 5 tonight
Ten is a reasonably reachable number. However, I do think Gausman will get one more start.
Brock Stewart up. Floro DFA'd. Bullpen just got upgraded.
So ends the other López trade.
I don't think Lopez is even on the Marlin's 40-man roster any more.
No, he's back with Baltimore. Or was a week or so ago.
RIP, Brooks Robinson. Nobody handled the hot corner better.
Man I loved watching Brooks. The Humane Vacuum Cleaner.
Those late 60s/early 70s Os teams were special.
Brooks, Buford, Blair, Belanger, Boog - those were great years.
