After coming off a nice series win against the Mets, the Twins lose all three in Atlanta and come home to a begin a six game stand against the lowly White Sox and the improving Angels. If the Twins want to be playing meaningful games in August and September, it really feels like winning at least 4 or 5 of these games is crucial.
Bailey Ober on the mound for the Twins and he's pitched well as he gets distance from his annual first game of the year blow out. Davis Martin for the Whities and he has a stat line that one would expect from a no-name pitcher for a last place team.
Game time at 6:40 and the weather should be nice for a ballgame. Not a lot of attention on this team right now given the NBA and NHL playoffs, NFL draft, etc. Could be a good time to just play some decent ball under the radar and be there when the fans look for some excitement for the summer.
Game is of FOX9 and Gray Media stations. My mom is happy she can watch.
Let's see if we can't win one for rowsdower's b-day at least, huh guys?
YES!
nice defensive play by Julien
Nice catch by Julien. That’ll improve some range metrics.
Another high-scoring affair that we're so used to this season, from the looks of it
Why waste surplus runs on the Pale Hosers?
Land O Larnach!
Keaschall has been pretty fun to watch.
He seems like a keeper
Luke's going to keep stealing bases until someone stops him
He's a top 100 prospect for a reason.
LARNACH!!!!
2x obligatory
2x3x obligatoryBeen so long, Jhoan doesn't know what to do in a save situation
This is now a dual Wolves thread.
Kevin Harland is on the call tonight. Sweet.
I hope the bullpen is getting a lot of this crap out of their system early.
BUX!
There's win number one for today, so times for Wolves to make it two.
I thought Julien's play was outstand by man o man Bryan Buxton was all that and 5 times more. What a play!
It wasn't easy, and we were helped by some White Sockery, but winning a game that way is still a lot better than losing.
15 point first quarter is...not ideal
I still really don't like Luka, but these shots are inhuman. Wolves are guarding him just fine, but it's not making a difference.
And I certainly don't need a "TNT Audio Assist" from Luka tonight either.
Damned if Randle hasn't been the best Wolf on the floor. Offensively at least.
Ant has come around. But Lakers look like they aren't giving this one back.
Wolves aren't hitting 50% on 3PT tonight for sure.
Missed FTs aren't helping either.
Switching over to the Wild was the right call.
So far, at least.
Whoa.
The Wolves were sloppy as hell, but they hung on the whole time somehow. They were clawing back in the 4th and there was a chance in the last five minutes, but they didn't capitalize. If there's a silver lining, it felt like they really shut Luka down in the 4th. And even though everyone's been talking shit, Rudy was a huge part of that. Anyway, let's go home.
Had to check. Luka had 3 points, 0 assists, and was -4 in the 4th.
