I struggled to find clips for this week because I don't really know which artists I would want to see in concert right now.
Other than Julien Baker, who has probably been over-played here (8 times in 3.5 years). But what size venues does she play?
Florist's new album doesn't seem like it would translate to a live setting; it's so close and intimate.
Lana Del Rey went on a stadium tour and all I could find were audience clips. I watched a good number of her live clips early in her career and never found her performances compelling.
(As for finding cool performances in atypical settings...
Have we passed peak "Take Away Show"-like programming? Or are they just hidden under fan clips?
And how many times can I go to the BPB and HHT wells?)
I hope you like what I've offered (and will offer for a few more days), regardless.
Go ahead and drop your lists, and tell me why I'm wrong. Which touring musicians should I be excited about when they come through?
From her album Live in London, recorded on her 79th birthday and the day before.
This was her first of two albums released this year, of seven released this decade. Making this her most prolific decade for solo albums.
1960s: 1
1970s: 2 + 1 soundtrack album
1980s: 1
1990s: 3
2000s: 2 + 1 live album
2010s: 6 + 1 live album
Of course, she had a day job with the Staple Singers into the 1990s.

I wasn't looking for it, but Florist's album Emily Alone is right now my lead candidate for AMR's 2019 album of the year.
Recommended if you like: Julien Baker, the pastoral side of of Animal Collective circa Sung Tongs and Campfire Songs. Go ahead and listen here.
Songs for the longest day of the year?
I think one can't go wrong with Coil's Summer Solstice: Bee Stings EP, part of the Moon's Milk cycle. But maybe there are even-better options?
Father's Day Weekend Plans: Going tonight to Brother-in-law's cabin by Rush Lake with father-in-law, other brother-in-law (who's had that status under a month), my son (HPR) and my 4-year-old nephew (son of the BiL whose cabin it is). Gonna be fishing on Rush Lake... bought my first license in maybe 5 years. As my wife is one of three sisters (with no brothers), the only blood relations are to the two boys (to their fathers and grandfather).
Our wives and daughters are coming up on Sunday.
I don't know if I'll play any tunes, although the older BiL is a fan of Black Moth Super Rainbow, so we've got some overlap in tastes.
(This was just filler as there was no post and I had my list ready.)
https://youtu.be/L-Y0QeSn6-0 The Light Is Leaving Us All appears to be Tibet's best album since the inimitable Black Ships Ate the Sky.
C93 doesn't perform much, so apologies for the clip' poor vocal mix. If you want to make out the words, here's the studio version.

I was going to add Wolf Eyes' "Stabbed in the Face II" to my list as a bonus track to my R10, but as there's no FMD post, I'll talk about them as a post. Continue reading FMD: Seasonal Music (Wolf Eyes)→
