First baseman Joe Kuhel played for the franchise for several years while it was in Washington, and later managed the team there.  However, there do not appear to be any players with connections to the Minnesota Twins born on this day.

Tuesday—Rochester 5, Charlotte 4 in Rochester (10 innings)Trevor Plouffe had four hits including a double and a home run.  Jeff Bailey had two singles and a double.  Joe Nathan pitched a scoreless inning, giving up a hit.  Anthony Slama struck out five in two shutout innings.

Wednesday—Charlotte 8, Rochester 7 in Rochester Aaron Bates had two doubles to raise his average to .340.  Dustin Martin had two hits.  Joe Nathan allowed an unearned run in one inning, giving up a hit and a walk while striking out three.

NEW BRITAIN

Tuesday—New Britain 6, Bowie 5 in New BritainYangervis Solarte had two doubles to raise his average to .325.  Brian Dozier had two hits to raise his average to .333.  Liam Hendriks gave up two runs (one earned) on eight hits and a walk while striking out six in seven innings.

Wednesday—New Britain at Bowie.  Postponed.

FT. MYERS

Tuesday—Palm Beach 5, Ft. Myers 0 in Palm Beach Reggie Williams singled and doubled.  Jhon Garcia allowed four runs on four hits and two walks in 3.2 innings.

Wednesday—Palm Beach 6, Ft. Myers 5 (10 innings)Aaron Hicks singled, doubled, and tripled.  James Beresford and Steven Liddle each singled and doubled.  Reggie Williams had two hits.  Tom Stuifbergen allowed two unearned runs on four hits and two walks in five innings.

BELOIT

Tuesday—West 8, East 3Michael Gonzales was 1-for-2.  Danny Ortiz was 0-for-5.  Adrian Salcedo allowed two runs (one earned) on two hits in two-thirds of an inning.

Wednesday—No games scheduled.

ELIZABETHTON

Tuesday—Bluefield 6, Elizabethton 5 in Elizabethton (13 innings) Nick Lockwood had three hits.  Kennys Vargas and Niko Goodrum each singled and homered.  Randy Rhodes singled and doubled.  Eddy Rosario and Miguel Sano each singled and doubled.  Derek Christensen gave up a run on three hits in four innings, striking out five.

Wednesday—Bluefield 4, Elizabethton 3 in ElizabethtonKennys Vargas singled and homered.  Pedro Guerra struck out four in three shutout innings, giving up one hit.

GCL TWINS

Tuesday—Twins 4, Orioles 0 at OriolesJorge Polanco singled and doubled.  Candido Pimentel and Aderlin Mejia each had two hits.  Angel Mata pitched four shutout innings, giving up two hits and two walks.

Wednesday—Rays 5, Twins 1 at RaysHein Robb allowed four runs on six hits and two walks in 1.1 innings.  The Twins had only four hits.

DSL TWINS

Tuesday—Twins 5, Diamondbacks 4 at Diamondbacks.  Erick Gonzalez singled and tripled.  Junior Subero struck out five in four shutout innings, giving up three hits and three walks.

Wednesday—Twins 7, White Sox 5 at White SoxJhon Silva had two hits.  Yorman Landa struck out five in 3.2 innings, giving up a run on two hits and two walks.

Minor Details: Games of 6/20

Charlotte 7, Rochester 2 in Charlotte (Game 1—Scheduled 7 innings).  The Knights got all they needed with three in the second and put it away with four in the seventh.  All five Red Wings hits were singles.  Kyle Gibson struck out six in five innings but gave up six runs on eight hits.

Charlotte 5, Rochester 1 in Charlotte (Game 2—Scheduled 7 inningsz).  The Red Wings were limited to four hits in the nightcap, for a total of nine on the doubleheader.  Scott Diamond struck out eight in five innings, giving up three runs on three hits and two walks.

New Britain—No game scheduled.

Ft. Myers 6, Palm Beach 3 in Palm Beach.  The Miracle scored five in the seventh to overcome a 3-0 deficit.  Jamaal Hawkins had two hits.  Nick Romero tripled with the bases loaded to give Ft. Myers the lead.  Kane Holbrooks gave up three runs on four hits and two walks in five innings.  Andrew Albers worked a scoreless sixth to get the win.  Matt Hauser followed with two scoreless innings, and Dakota Watts blanked the Cardinals in the ninth to get his eighth save.

Beloit.  No games scheduled.

GCL Twins 2, Orioles 1 at Twins.  The Twins tied it with a run in the sixth and won with one in the ninth in their league opener.  Drew Leachman singled in Kelvin Silvania with the winning run.  The Twins had only five hits in the game.  Ricardo Arevalo pitched five innings, giving up an unearned run on three hits and three walks while striking out five.  Tyler Herr and Luis Nunez followed with two shutout innings each, with Nunez getting the win.

DSL Twins 9, Padres 0.  The Twins scored three in the first and three in the fifth.  They had only eight hits, but were aided by six Padres errors.  Felix Martinez singled and tripled.  Victor Arias singled and doubled, driving in three.  Sterling Bonilla struck out four in four innings, giving up three hits and a walk.  Randy Rosario followed with three hitless innings, walking two and getting the win.

Minor Details: Games of 6/19

Indianapolis 8, Rochester 3 in Rochester.  The Indians score four in the first and that was all they needed.  Trevor Plouffe had three hits and Toby Gardenhire had two.  All nine Red Wings hits were singles.  Ryan Mullins surrendered six runs on eleven hits and two walks in only four innings.  Dusty Hughes and Kyle Waldrop each pitched two shutout innings of relief.

New Britain 5, Reading 3 in Reading.  The Rock Cats scored three in the first, but lost that lead and needed single runs in the seventh and eighth to put the game away.  Chris Parmelee singled and homered.  Yangervis Solarte had two hits to raise his average to .322.  Steve Hirschfeld allowed three runs on seven hits in 5.2 innings.  He struck out seven and walked none.  Michael Tarsi got the win with 1.1 innings of scoreless relief.  Bruce Pugh pitched two shutout innings to get the save.

Ft. Myers.  No games scheduled.

Beloit 5, Burlington 1 in Burlington.  The Snappers scored two in the eighth to put the game away.  Daniel Santana had three hits.  Nate Roberts singled and tripled.  Danny Ortiz and Jairo Perez each had two hits, with Perez raising his average to .357.  Manuel Soliman got the win, giving up a run on four hits and three walks in six innings.  Three relief pitchers each pitched a shutout inning of relief to finish the game.

Indianapolis 7, Rochester 5 in Rochester (Game 1).  The Indians scored four in the sixth to break a 3-3 tie.  Chase Lambin had three hits.  Trevor Plouffe doubled and homered.  Steve Holm had two doubles.  Dustin Martin doubled and singled.  Mike Hollimon had two hits.  Eric Hacker pitched five innings, allowing five runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks.  Chuck James threw two shutout innings.  The Red Wings made three errors.

Rochester 12, Indianapolis 7 in Rochester (Game 2).  The Red Wings scored five in the second and ten in the first four innings.  Trevor Plouffe doubled, tripled, and homered, scoring three times and driving in three.  Steve Holm singled and homered.  Brian Dinkelman and Steve Singleton each had two hits.  Jeff Bailey hit a three-run homer.  Cole DeVries got the win with 3.1 innings of relief, giving up a run on five hits, walking none, and striking out three.

New Britain 2, Reading 1 in Reading.  Dennis Suarez got the win with six shutout innings, giving up four hits and a walk.  Deolis Guerra struck out five in two shutout innings, giving up just one hit and walking none.  Bruce Pugh came in with the tying run on second and struck out the only man he faced for the save.  Deibinson Romero had two doubles.  Chris Parmelee and Yangervis Solarte each had two hits, with Solarte raising his average to .320.  Evan Bigley hit a home run.

FSL All-star Game.  North 5, South 3.  Danny Rams struck out in his only at-bat.  Dakota Watts retired both men he faced, striking out one.

DSL Twins 3, Reds 1.  The Twins scored single runs in the third, fourth, and seventh.  They had only four hits in the game.  Jose Jimenez pitched the first three innings, giving up a run on three hits and a walk.  Javier Vargas struck out four in two shutout innings to get the win.  Edgar Martinez struck out three in three shutout innings, and Francisco Nunez pitched a perfect ninth to get the save.
