This time of year, I see about five to ten new people every day. In eight weeks they'll be gone. Time to decide whether to learn their names.

The downside of getting to work after the young kids have already commandeered the radio is that stupid songs are stuck in my head all night.

My brother turns 35 today and with his marriage over and work turning out to be fulfilling, he's actually cleaning up his act and no longer looks like a lock to die young. I'm honestly surprised he made it this far sometimes, but he did, and here's to 35 more years, eh?

...to staying up too late.

Make a wish.

My wife was told to expect about 50 hours a week for a few weeks as she begins with her promotion, but this past week she logged 65 (while I, too, had about six hours of overtime). Christmas presents are going to be easy this year.

After successfully avoiding sickness for two and a half weeks as it keeps worming its way through my wife and kids, I woke up with something today and can't swallow. Argh.

This is the time of year where I start needing my light jacket, and I remember that yet again, I left it in Minnesota during my last visit.
