Flags at half staff and the ladder truck in town with a giant flag hanging from it had me explaining 9/11 to Niblet on the way to school this morning. Answering the, “Why did they hate us?” question was not on my Twingo card for this morning.

The younger boy grabbed and asked my phone to play "It's Raining Tacos", however my phone is set to only play songs in my library so it played "It's Raining" by Eleni Mandell instead. I thought that was pretty funny.

I've strangely always been a fan of watching tennis, even when Wimbledon was interrupting my Saturday morning cartoons. This has been a fun US Open so far and it's also a little weird to watch a major that's basically in my time zone.

School starts early around here. In the Minne, I never started before Labor Day. I do like the idea of starting the week before on Wednesday, so there's three days of school, then Labor Day so four days of school this week, and then up to the full five days of school the week after that. But, that's not what we do around here...
