IOWA CUBS 8, ST. PAUL SAINTS 4 IN ST. PAUL

St. Paul led 4-0 after three, but Iowa rallied for six in the fourth.  The inning was capped by a grand slam by Owen Caissie.

Multi-hit games:  Chris Williams was 2-for-3 with a home run and a walk.  Anthony Prato was 2-for-4.

Home runs:  Williams (14); Jair Camargo (11); Payton Eeles (4).

Pitching prowess:  Andrew Morris struck out six in 3.2 innings, giving up one run on two hits and a walk.  Zack Weiss struck out four in two shutout innings, giving up two hits.  Steven Okert struck out two in a scoreless inning.

FRISCO ROUGHRIDERS 2, WICHITA WIND SURGE 1 IN FRISCO

Frisco scored on an RBI ground out in the sixth to break a 1-1 tie.

Pitching prowess:  Marco Raya pitched five innings, giving up one run on four hits and a walk and striking out two.  Cory Lewis struck out three in three innings, giving up one run on two hits and a walk.

Opposition standout:  Andy Rodriguez pitched five innings, giving up one run on three hits and two walks and striking out three.

Record:  Wichita is 24-37, in fifth (last) place, fourteen games behind Springfield.

WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS 3, CEDAR RAPIDS KERNELS 2 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

Wisconsin led 3-0 after three.  Cedar Rapids scored two in the eighth, but did not get the tying run on base.

Pitching prowess:  Jordan Carr pitched three shutout innings, giving up two hits and striking out two.  Rafael Marcano struck out two and walked three in two shutout innings.  Juan Mendez struck out two in a scoreless inning.

Opposition standout:  Will Rudy struck out seven in six shutout innings, giving up five hits and three walks.

Record:  Cedar Rapids is 29-35, in fifth place, seven games behind Cedar Rapids.

LAKELAND FLYING TIGERS 7, FORT MYERS MIGHTY MUSSELS 3 IN LAKELAND (COMPLETION OF SUSPENDED GAME)

Lakeland scored two in the fourth to take a 3-2 lead.  Surprisingly, they played a full nine innings, but it didn't matter, as neither team scored after the seventh.
