The new Alvvays record is really, really good. There aren't a whole lot of good live clips from it, yet, but as luck would have it, today's clip was recorded just last night. Thanks, Larry!

PUP – DVP
Patti Smith – Gloria
No words for this.
Archers of Loaf – Harnessed in Slum
This song is so muscular and this live version perfectly captures its essence.
The Wrens – Hopeless
The Wrens had one amazing album in 2003 (The Meadowlands) and then kinda faded away. A couple members are now in a band called Aeon and they play a bunch of The Wrens songs. This is an ultimate kiss-off song and I love kiss-off songs.
Parquet Courts – Almost Had to Start a Fight
Nibs played a version of this song nearly 4 years ago but I had to play a version this week. This comes from probably my favorite album of the last 5 years and definitely one of the most fun shows I've seen this year.
The Who – A Quick One While He’s Away
I saw this performance as part of the movie The Kids are Alright back in high school and it blew me away. Some 40 years later it still blows me away. I wish this had a Keith Moon Cam. I'd watch that all day long.
Olivia Rodrigo – Brutal
I think this is the most punk song played on top 40 radio since Smells Like Teen Spirit.
Neil Young – Born in the USA!
Welcome to Freealonzo's rock week. I just had to kick it off with this version of Born in the USA by Neil Young. This is from 2013 and it's at a Grammy muckity-muck event full of rich white folks. Neil just absolutely captures the anger that is the backbone of this song and it one point the camera pans to Bruce who definitely is slightly uncomfortable at someone performing the song the way it was supposed be performed. My favorite part may be near the end when Neil poinst to the crowd and sings your were born in the USA.
The crown scenes are amazing to and I have no idea what the "signing" cheerleaders are all about. Stick around more fun stuff all week long.
