Neil Young – Born in the USA!

Welcome to Freealonzo's rock week. I just had to kick it off with this version of Born in the USA by Neil Young. This is from 2013 and it's at a Grammy muckity-muck event full of rich white folks. Neil just absolutely captures the anger that is the backbone of this song and it one point the camera pans to Bruce who definitely is slightly uncomfortable at someone performing the song the way it was supposed be performed. My favorite part may be near the end when Neil poinst to the crowd and sings your were born in the USA.

The crown scenes are amazing to and I have no idea what the "signing" cheerleaders are all about. Stick around more fun stuff all week long.

FMD — Happy 75th Birthday Neil Young

Neil Young is 75 years old today which is definitely worthy of a FMD post. One of those artists I discovered when I was a teenager that I have loved consistently ever since. Although he hasn't put out anything lately that I have found super compelling, he's also been releasing a bunch of stuff from the archives that have been amazing. I can continue to listen to both live recordings and album releases from each decade since the 60's and do so frequently.

Happy Birthday Neil, this note's for you.

FMD – Neil Young

So I saw Neil Young twice this past week. Tuesday’s show at the State was amazing, even with the dudebros hootin’ and hollerin’ at inappropriate times.

Interesting that I’m not really interested in seeing any other legacy acts live such as The Who or The Rolling Stones but Neil Young. Heck I was thinking of going to Winnipeg to see him there.
