We have covered this before, but these guys are really great. Music and message both really hit the spot. I could have picked any number of their songs for this spot.
My daughter's godfather took us to their concert this year - a lot of fun and so great to have a shared interest with the little ones. Reminiscing with a 5-year old is the best.

I don't connect well with my boy most days. Had a spell when this was playing on the radio where we could both sing it together with feeling. Have to take what I can get. I don't know where the tweens are generating all the angst these days.

I have not purchased a lot of music in my day. For some reason, this song prompted me to buy their CD...back in '98, apparently. Thought it was earlier than that.
I just went through the album again on their website (they do still have one)...not sure when the last time I listened to them, but I must have played the whole thing an awful lot - I could jump into all the songs and sing along. Music is a funny thing.
We even have an Eve 6 tag already. Boy, you guys are thorough.

Jumping forward to somthing a little more recent...wife and I managed a night out back in April and got to see Something Rotten at the Orpheum. We’ve since gone to see Chicago as well. Both of them a lot of fun. There may be more Broadway in my future.
The cast members in this clip were in the show we saw. So that’s cool.

Hey everybody! I may be the least qualified one here to play VJ, but I do listen to the music now and again.
As I've never done this before, maybe we'll dedicate this week to exposing ZG a little bit, at least in terms of the music that has been a part of my life, past and present.
Kicking off, if I had to pick one band to identify with as my musical taste, I'm pretty sure I'd go with Green Day. I remember being a young teen, maybe tween, at my cousin's house when they were playing the "Dookie" album. An odd memory perhaps, but I had been into country around that time (before it was cool, definitely). Anyway, I know I liked what I heard, and while I enjoy a wide variety of music, Green Day, and their ilk, always seem to sound just right to me.

At 88 years old, Staton's voice was even more perfect for this tune than when he sung it for Paris, Texas in 1984. The look on Harper Simon's face in the last couple bars gets me every time.
If you haven't picked up Partly Fiction, Stanton's 2014 album, you should. His covers of "She Thinks I Still Care" and "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain" will blow you away. He doesn't steal them from George or Willie, but wears them like cracked old leather jacket he can't bear to part with.

Hiromi is one heckuva pianist, with a long playing & recording career yet ahead of her. That's MFSB alum & legendary session man Anthony Jackson on the six-string contrabass (his invention) and ex-Judas Priest drummer Simon Phillips on the skins.

I somehow had overlooked Eick until he released Midwest, a meditation on Norwegian immigration to America, in 2015. Eick's visit to the upper Midwest inspired him to create a "road" album that begins in his home village, Hem, and travels to North Dakota, carrying Norwegian cultural sensibilities into an interplay with the American landscape. It was one of my favorite albums of the year.
This tune's from his album previous to Midwest.
