welp, better late than never. This here is the Human Jukebox marching in Zulu’s parade this year. Enjoy.

I'd rub it in by saying that I know it's a regular old tuesday everywhere else, but we're partying like it's going out of style (even if the weather is 36˚ and raining...). Seriously, never seen a crowd this deep and crazy during mardi gras before. Enjoy your Feburary Tuesday, citizens, but y'all should really consider a trip to NOLA for the parade season sometime. I'll be happy to meet anyone in front of Johnny White's pub on the corner of Orleans and Bourbon any day of the week.

Is funky weekend a thing? Yeah baby, you betcha it is. Here's a little bit of funky mardi gras indian music to round out this weekend.
This request was wired in from Meat, who is naturally enjoying the holiday. I'm at work, so I'm not 100% sure if the is the right song, but fingers crossed.

(We've bumped today's previous video to tomorrow since I'm an idiot and forgot the holiday)

It's parade season in New Orleans, and that means marching bands. Here is the St. Aug Marching 100 not marching, but they are pretty much killing it.

Y'all missed Mid-Summer Mardi Gras last night. Here's house performing the quintessential Mardi Gras tune live from Warsaw.

The big parades in New Orleans end in the Convention Center. Bands, floats, everything enter the convention center. Seeing these bands (along with St. Aug's Marching 100) are the reason I think all parades outside of New Orleans are lame. You will never find "attitude" in a band like you do in New Orleans. Happy Mardi Gras! Laissez Bon Temps Rouler!

On a Lundi Gras, you need a song to get you up and dancing. This song never fails.

Now that the Superbowl is over, and Ray Lewis is redeemed, we can get back to focusing on what's really important in NOLA ----> Carnival Time.
If you have any interest at all in the traditions and roots of Carnival and Mardi Gras in NOLA I highly recommend All On A Mardi Gras Day. Seriously, it's so much fun, y'all just don't know what you're missing.
*there are few acceptable live recordings of Al Johnson Singing Carnival Time on youtube so you'll just have to deal.
