  1. Alright, you can consider me officially annoyed by the "Jeremy Lin Story" (and subsequent ESPN produced movie). I'm still trying to figure out where, exactly, this "underdog" crap is. He graduated from freekin Harvard, he's not an underdog.

    More Rubio, please!

    1. Part of the appeal is he is only the 3rd player ever from Harvard to play in the NBA, and the last one played in the 1950's.

    2. To your credit, you held out for a pretty long time. It is a copyright-Josh-Hamilton great story, but ESPN et al have wrung every bit of joy out of it.

This is why we can't have nice things, America.

  2. Wild moved Zidlicky for 3 players (2 familiar faces and a big young forward), a 2nd round pick in '12 and a conditional 3rd for '13. Seems like a decent trade though as usual, only time will tell.
Edit: More comprehensive article about it here if you don't mind burning one of your Strib reads.

    1. It's been set up to allow any author or higher to post to it. In order to follow anyone else though, someone needs to log in to it and add it. Any suggestions to add?

      1. any citizens, obviously. should we go with the usual suspects of the bloggers? gleeman, all the twins centric guys, etc.? maybe current twins players (perkins for sure)?

        oh, and JoePos, of course.

        1. Love the Richardson pic, HJ. I may switch my Blackadder WW mod to a Deadwood one if I can decide on the right roles. Maybe bhiggum can be Bullock and just shoot everyone at night.

    2. Also Sheenie has an account that would likely only be of interest to SBG and Moss (it's entirely about IP law). /lsyoungiplaw

  3. So, a burning question on everyone's lips is "Is the Death Star worth building?" We now have not one but two answers! Sweeeeeet!

    1. I'm going to have to agree with Seth on this one. At least, until the Empire finds some better contractors and cleans up its leak problem.

      1. but the comment thread on Drum's piece was HI-larious. here might be my favorite:

you do realize that's impossible right? In order to fire a weapon while you are traveling faster than the speed of light it must be able to travel even faster than you are otherwise you would run into your own weapon. Of course if you refer to firing at another ship inside the same warp. Then your whole point is moot. Because it's space that's moving outside the warp. Inside the two ships are sitting still. However the odds that you and your enemy would be traveling in the same warp are rather small and remote.

      1. Heh. you know @nickpuntotwins still has 605 followers. It still gets a couple of new followers a week (with the same number of drops).

  4. Posting from Santiago, Chlie, watching Barclays Premier League being announced by Espanyol announcers - surreal.

        1. My initial exposure to three of those four was during my first naval deployment in 2003. We hop-scotched counter-clockwise around South America from Cartegena, Colombia, through the Panama Canal and down the Pacific side of the continent from Manta, Equador to Peru and ended the trip up in Valparaiso, Chile. I vaguely recall an inland trip to Santiago, but being 23, the Cerveza, Corvina and Pisco Sours cloud my memory. I hope to go back some day when I'm older and wiser I can afford it - NBB, I'll hit you up for notes Frommer's style when the plans come together. Enjoy the trip good man.

          1. Leaving Santiago for wine-country and biking tomorrow - mebbe drive up into the Andes. God how cool is it to be in sunlight from 7 clicks to 8 bells. Gotta pick up the Universidad de Catholico game now.
