Batting star: Brian Dozier was 2-for-5 with a double.
Pitching star: Brendan Wise worked two shutout innings of relief, allowing just a walk.
Opposition stars: Bobby Scales was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles. Vinny Rottino was 2-for-2 with a walk and drove in three.
Key inning: The seventh. Trailing 3-2, the Red Wings put runners on first and second with one out. Jack Egbert came on in relief and struck out Joe Benson and Aaron Bates to end the threat.
Other: Rene Tosoni left the game in the third inning due to a cut on his finger. He is expected to miss less than a week.
RICHMOND 3, NEW BRITAIN 1 IN NEW BRITAIN (12 INNINGS)
Batting stars: Pedro Florimon was 2-for-4. Danny Lehmann walked four times.
Pitching stars: Jason Marquis gave up one run on seven hits in six innings. Andrew Albers struck out three in three shutout innings, giving up two hits. Lester Oliveros worked two shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk.
Opposition stars: Chris Heston gave up one hit and three walks in five shutout innings. Brett Bochy allowed only a walk in 2.1 scoreless innings.
Key inning: The twelfth. In his only inning, Blake Martin allowed two runs on three singles, a wild pitch, a walk, and a sacrifice fly.
Other: The Rock Cats were out-hit 14-4.

Pitching star: B. J. Hermsen gave up just two hits and a walk in five shutout innings.
Opposition stars: Riccio Torrez doubled and tripled. Albert Suarez gave up one run in five innings.
Key inning: The ninth. Singles by Danny Rams and Andy Leer put the winning run in scoring position with one out. Santana hit into a double play to end the threat.
PEORIA 6, BELOIT 2 IN BELOIT
Batting stars: Eddie Rosario hit a home run and Matthew Koch doubled. Those were the only two Snapper hits.
Pitching stars: Ryan O’Rourke struck out three in two perfect innings. Corey Williams allowed just one hit in two shutout innings.
Opposition stars: Eduardo Gonzalez singled and homered. Taylor Davis singled and doubled.
Key inning: The second. With the score tied at one, the Chiefs scored three times on just two hits. An error, a walk, and a hit batsman aided their run total.
