Matt Harrison
v
Anthony Swarzak
Last season was crap, but the Twins managed to beat the AL champions five of the eight times they played including three out of four in Minnesota. The bad news: Swarzak pitched in that game. The good news: the loser was Duensing, who went two innings and gave up seven runs. Swarzak went the next six, giving up only two runs.
Harrison also lost in the homestand, in the one game where Liriano was awesome. That was the game where Harrison got hit in the head, the Twins decided to score a bunch, and messed up Liriano's groove. Don't mess up Swarzak's groove and 158-4 stays in sight.
I would take six innings and two runs from Sizzlesocks tonight.
I'm sorry, that was not in the form of a New Guy prediction. Try again.
While I would take that, I predict that he will throw 6 perfect innings before allowing a baserunner on an error (E2!). Then three more perfect innings.
that big p*ssy ruins everything, don't he?
To be fair, he hits three home runs in the game.
But one of them is a warning track fly ball that bounces off of Josh Hamilton's head, so it doesn't count.
Did we use up all our runs yesterday?
This will only be the second game this season that I'll get to watch. Subway on the plate, homebrew in the glass.
Good times.
Hey, boys!
I hope Mauer doesn't end up playing 50% of his games at first.
Summit EPA and Piiza Corner Supreme.
when I get home: Guinness draft can backed by Jubelale. I think I'll make spaghetti with a quick red sauce tonight.
Lakefront Organic ESB. I really like their IPA but this is just sort of meh.
Their pale ale and Murphy's makes for a pretty damn good black and tan, too.
An acceptable inning.
Inning's not over yet, dude
NOW it is
that was a nice catch by Cruz
Nice play by Kinsler too.
So, the Twins announcers are gushing about a dead pull hitter.
I missed it. What did they say about Harmon?
weird
A hit for Donut!!!! He might make us not miss
Henry BlancoButters yet!Butters only wishes he hit .200
I'm totally ready for my first Soleswap game of the year. I've got a belly full of frittata and, like nibs above, homebrew in my glass (my totally fabulous black IPA. So damned good.)
what is up with the Texas outfield?
man, Rangers are making some plays out there.
HAH! Dazz talking about Texas being a "pretty good" defensive club. Last year, he was ALWAYS all GOML about the Rangers' defense (and general approach) when the Twins played them.
Plouffe, There It Is.
That ruins the comment I was going to make calling him Pl0uff-er.
ok, I laughed at that.
Plouuuuuffe
So Ranger outfielders seem pretty good huh?
Sweet line drive by Danny V, too bad it got caught. Nice awareness by the Porkstar, though.
Yeesh, I finally saw the highlight. I got a little wistful thinking of the runs that could have been.
Ooh, I like that nickname. Porkstar- fits in with the Kelly Wells thing we got going on.
Twins hitting Harrison pretty hard this inning with not much to show for it.
The old dude eating popcorn in the Safeco ads is a dead ringer for my dad.
SneakyStrike.
If Marquis pitches on Wednesday in NY, remind me not to listen.
Shoot.
yeah, that's not working now
drip drip drip...
Singlesurrender having some issues here in the fourth, and Luke is not helping.
Sounds like some solid fundamentals going on.
Secretstrike could sure use the ability to get outs without contact.
Better than it looked like it was going to be.
Boo, Snotshank. Going home now.
Phew- that inning could have been much worse.
Some sharply hit outs here tonight.
Lots of line drives for outs, some squared-up grounders. I still feel pretty good about how the offense looks, even though they haven't scored a bunch of runs.
Evening, gents.
Evening, Twayn.
Howdy, Twayn. I see you brought Swingstick's strikeout pitch with you.
He left it in the front yard again. One of these days I'm just going to give it to that Kevin Slowey kid. He's never had one of his own.
SwarzaKKK
Sluicebox is pitching well tonight, but he's had some bad luck behind him.
And some bad defense.
I was trying to be more polite, but yes.
Twins batters are swinging at the first pitch after the Ranger got the lead.
Double Spantastic!
Don't play Span to bunt!
Looks like I tuned in just in time for another rally.
Looks can be so deceiving.
Puss.
How much did that non-RBI strike out just cost?
Come on, Slakethirst, get this last out now.
I've had trouble with MLB.tv streaming on my PS3 lately, but it seems to work fine on my computer. It works, but it's very choppy. Anybody else having this problem?
Has it been all season or just today?
my new PC has issues as well. somehow the internet speed test is showing slower on that machine than the others in our network. beats me
For anybody else having this problem, clearing the cache on your PS3 internet browser seems to help.
This is what I would have suggested. I have no issues whatsoever, particularly now that I got a new PS3.
Another? Now you're just showing off.
Well, if it makes you feel better, I did pay for this one, rather than win a third.
for those of us at home, i think you might have to explain why you bought a 3rd PS3 when you already had two free ones...
Won the first one (not really "won," but it's close enough without boring you). Started using it immediately.
Won the second. Gave it to my best friend Josh.
Bought the third in preparation for my move to Washington to shoot the TV show. My old one has a broken fan and runs louder than a jackhammer, and if we both have PS3s I could get face time with my daughters whenever.
That'll play, Joshua.
That was one of the more awkward diving catches I've seen, but I'll take it.
I'm finding Willingham to be an adequate replacement for Cuddyer and/or Delmon
Yup. Doumit, on the other hand, is making me miss Kubel a little bit.
Agreed. SSS and all, though. He's certainly not making me miss Butera.
If I start saying I'm missing Drew, you know I had a head injury.
Ouch. Right in the Kinsler.
this game is getting out of reach
This is going to make the come back all the sweeter.
While the substance of this comment is solidly above average, the lackadaisical delivery and overall lack of extraneous capital letters will deduct from its total score.
THE MINNESOTA TWINS ARE GOING TO WIN THIS GAME OF BASE BALL!!!
🙂
nice catch by Span.
It is amazing what being healthy does for a guy.
"Deep" to left field? Don't Gordo me, Dick.
that was Swarzak's 25th start. 6 times he has gone 7 innings or more.
Don't they want to win this game? Why is Jeff Gray not pitching?
Be careful what you wish for. If Grey comes in, Twins take the lead, and then we are subjected to Matt Crapps.
You're right. Better that Gray comes in in the 9th.
Twins pitchers with no walks allowed tonight; I like that aspect over last year's debacle.
I thought Jeff Burton was one of those nascar drivers.

meh
[redacted]
You forgot to tap your heels as you were saying that.
Oh Joe.
This new shortstop is pretty alright.
The new first baseman has some work to do, though.
But he plays good D.
Alright, baloney sighting.
Nice tag, Catcher.
evening, all. i
seehear i'm not missing much.Who had the idea of a frozen hot chocolate anyway? Just call it a chocolate milkshake. Idiots.
Thanks, I've been trying to figure out what the heck a frozen hot chocolate was.
a hot chocolate is made with chocolate and water whereas a milkshake is made with more dairy...I dont know.
Tastes great with jumbo shrimp, I get mine from Oxymorons down on 7th Street.
Oganda is just in to set up the save opportunity for Twitchy.
Maybe a higher degree of difficulty save.
in the 13th inning?
This game has been rather dull. This is all changing now, right?
You Valencha.
...not even close.
COME ON!
Nope.
I'm just here for the booing.
I hate to disappoint, but I haven't seen meat all game.
Booooooooooooooo, bitches.
Blow it up.

Dennys Reyes was a winner, that is for sure.
I was just complaining about losing another game and my wife looked at me funny and said in her best Dustin Hoffman Rain Man voice, "There's lots of 'em."
