2012 Game 7: Texas Rangers at Minnesota Twins

Matt Harrison
v
Anthony Swarzak

Last season was crap, but the Twins managed to beat the AL champions five of the eight times they played including three out of four in Minnesota. The bad news: Swarzak pitched in that game. The good news: the loser was Duensing, who went two innings and gave up seven runs. Swarzak went the next six, giving up only two runs.

Harrison also lost in the homestand, in the one game where Liriano was awesome. That was the game where Harrison got hit in the head, the Twins decided to score a bunch, and messed up Liriano's groove. Don't mess up Swarzak's groove and 158-4 stays in sight.

      1. While I would take that, I predict that he will throw 6 perfect innings before allowing a baserunner on an error (E2!). Then three more perfect innings.

            1. But one of them is a warning track fly ball that bounces off of Josh Hamilton's head, so it doesn't count.

  1. This will only be the second game this season that I'll get to watch. Subway on the plate, homebrew in the glass.

    Good times.

    1. when I get home: Guinness draft can backed by Jubelale. I think I'll make spaghetti with a quick red sauce tonight.

  2. I'm totally ready for my first Soleswap game of the year. I've got a belly full of frittata and, like nibs above, homebrew in my glass (my totally fabulous black IPA. So damned good.)

  3. HAH! Dazz talking about Texas being a "pretty good" defensive club. Last year, he was ALWAYS all GOML about the Rangers' defense (and general approach) when the Twins played them.

    1. Yeesh, I finally saw the highlight. I got a little wistful thinking of the runs that could have been.

    2. Ooh, I like that nickname. Porkstar- fits in with the Kelly Wells thing we got going on.

    1. Lots of line drives for outs, some squared-up grounders. I still feel pretty good about how the offense looks, even though they haven't scored a bunch of runs.

      1. He left it in the front yard again. One of these days I'm just going to give it to that Kevin Slowey kid. He's never had one of his own.

  4. I've had trouble with MLB.tv streaming on my PS3 lately, but it seems to work fine on my computer. It works, but it's very choppy. Anybody else having this problem?

    1. For anybody else having this problem, clearing the cache on your PS3 internet browser seems to help.

            1. for those of us at home, i think you might have to explain why you bought a 3rd PS3 when you already had two free ones...

              1. Won the first one (not really "won," but it's close enough without boring you). Started using it immediately.

Won the second. Gave it to my best friend Josh.

Bought the third in preparation for my move to Washington to shoot the TV show. My old one has a broken fan and runs louder than a jackhammer, and if we both have PS3s I could get face time with my daughters whenever.

    1. While the substance of this comment is solidly above average, the lackadaisical delivery and overall lack of extraneous capital letters will deduct from its total score.

    1. Be careful what you wish for. If Grey comes in, Twins take the lead, and then we are subjected to Matt Crapps.

  5. Who had the idea of a frozen hot chocolate anyway? Just call it a chocolate milkshake. Idiots.

    1. a hot chocolate is made with chocolate and water whereas a milkshake is made with more dairy...I dont know.

  6. I was just complaining about losing another game and my wife looked at me funny and said in her best Dustin Hoffman Rain Man voice, "There's lots of 'em."
