Twins affiliates have another winning day.  Chris Colabello hits two home runs.  Angel Morales is FSL offensive player of the week.

ROCHESTER 4, SCRANTON/WILKES-BARRE 2 IN ROCHESTER (YANKEE HOME GAME)

Batting starTsuyoshi Nishioka was 3-for-4 with a walk.

Pitching starsDaryl Thompson gave up a run in five innings, allowing four hits and three walks.  Tyler Robertson worked two shutout innings, striking out three while giving up two hits.

Opposition star:  Francisco Cervelli was 3-for-5.

Key inning: The eighth.  Trailing 4-1, the Yankees scored once and loaded the bases with two out.  Anthony Slama caught Kevin Russo looking to end the inning.

NEW BRITAIN 6, PORTLAND 3 IN PORTLAND

Batting starChris Colabello was 2-for-3 with a walk and two home runs, giving him four for the season.  He scored three times and drove in three.

Pitching starsBobby Lanigan pitched three shutout innings, giving up two hits.  Deolis Guerra went two perfect innings.

Opposition star:  Bryce Brentz was 2-for-4 with a triple, driving in two.

Key inning:  The fourth.  Down 1-0, the Rock Cats came back to score three times on three singles, a walk, and an error.

JUPITER 4, FORT MYERS 0 IN JUPITER

Batting starAngel Morales doubled for the only Miracle extra-base hit.  The Miracle had only four hits in the game.

Pitching starsJose Gonzalez and Caleb Thielbar each worked a scoreless inning, each giving up one hit.

Opposition stars:  Taylor Krick was 2-for-3 with a double.  Danny Black was 2-for-3 and drove in two.  Rob Rasmussen went six shutout innings, giving up three hits and walking two.

Key inning:  The fourth.  Leading 2-0, the Hammerheads scored twice on a double and three singles to go ahead 4-0.

KANE COUNTY 5, BELOIT 2 IN BELOIT (GAME 1—SCHEDULED 7 INNINGS)

Batting starsDanny Ortiz was 2-for-2 with a sacrifice.  Miguel Sano hit his fifth home run of the season.

Pitching star:  None.

Opposition star:  Lane Adams was 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, and five RBIs.  Scott Alexander allowed only an unearned run on two hits and two walks while striking out five in five innings.

Key inning:  The seventh.  Leading 3-2, Adams hit a two-run triple to put the game out of reach for the Cougars.

BELOIT 3, KANE COUNTY 2 IN BELOIT (GAME 2—SCHEDULED 7 INNINGS)

Batting starJonathan Goncalves was 3-for-3 with two doubles.

Pitching starA. J. Achter struck out six in three perfect innings of relief.

Opposition star:  Edwin Carl struck out seven in five innings, giving up two unearned runs on five hits and a walk.

Key inning:  The seventh.  Down 2-1, the Cougars put together two singles and two sacrifices to tie the game.  Rory Rhodes opened the bottom of the seventh with a walk.  Pinch-runner Adam Pettersen stole second, took third on a wild pitch, and scored on another wild pitch to win the game.
