I've been to six weddings so far this year, three in the past month. Thankfully I have just one more left this year.

I will only have to hear this song one more time this year.

bad songs on purpose? Is that the theme of the week?
The worst part about this song isn't the vapid lyrics, but how annoyingly catchy it is. There have been times where I've tried to fall asleep and this piece of garbage just would not stop playing in my head.
I kinda enjoy its catchy-ness. It's not a good song by any measure, but I enjoy it despite myself.
This is the song playing on the five-minute looping video in my department. This piece of garbage won't stop playing for me, either, except it's not just in my head.
i actually really like this version:

I irrationally really, really, really disliked Jimmy Fallon for the longest time until I heard his interview on Fresh Air last year. Now, I kind of balls the dude. Also this is pretty awesome.

the only thing Fallon does well -- and he's a first-ballot HOFer on this -- is his Neil Young impression.
he does a pretty darn decent Morrison/Doors as well

That's amazing! I didn't see him crack himself up!
and not a bad Dylan, either
Ok, I revise my assessment. He can do Dylan and Jim Morrison too.
also, the length of the Repository article on that song is hilarious. "Cultural impact"?? Seriously? "Track listing"?? Double-seriously??
sometimes you need to know which versions have the Warriorettes remix on them, and which do not.
Or if there's a radio edit or radio remix that differs from the album version. Not that I'm interested in that case, but stuff like that's useful for a trainspotter like myself.
This song ends up with 12 plus LTEs? This is crazy!
Maybe.
I'm crying right now. Solid ten.
I do not want to pull another James-Tailer-no-listen-
zeroone here, so someone please listen and drop this ten-point average. You got it.
Thanks, Hitman!
I'd only do that for Mumford and Sons.
Scoring points with Novak, hmm?
I've got to make up for all my alleged past transgressions against him somehow.
I've never heard the song except for 30 seconds or so of a certain President*'s speeches cut up to apparantly mimic the song. I preferred it when EBN did a similar thing with one particular speech from a different President*'s (and future President Pops**) and the song "We Will Raq You."
*Avoiding names of the subjects so as not to cross any lines.
**If the Queen's mother is the "Queen Mum", then the President's father must be "President Pops", right?
So, umm, jobu. I guess that if we play awful pop music people will not only interact but vote on the videos, too.

Carly Rae is picking infectious pop songs to sing. I enjoy her duet with Minnesotas owns Owl City on a song called 'Good Time'
Which is funny, because prior to that song, I would've pegged both those artists as absolute slam dunk one hit wonders.
FunBoring Fact: The Owl City dude was in the same high school graduating class as my sister.I've heard of her (and Owl City), though I haven't heard the music. I intend to keep it that way.
As a public service, I offer this bit of counter-programming:

You didn't think I miss out on a 30 comment video, did you?
Mike Watt on bass, everybody.
4:47
I saw Watt play bass for Perry Farrell's P###o for Pyros at First Ave.
I was like in the second row and this guy in front of me kept yelling out "Watt! Watt! Watt!" like trying to get his attention or to let
Watt know that someone in the audience recognized him in his face-obscuring hooded cloak (really, it must have been a horribly-kept secret). One would wave thought the Watt fan would've tired or grown bored of this, but no, it was pretty constant every time the music quit or even quieted.
I saw him on one of his tours for Contemplating the Engine Room in 1998. I was 16, but had a friend who worked for the promoter and got a friend and I into the 18+ show. He signed my CD for me and was very friendly considering I was a dorky kid awkwardly trying to hold a conversation with the first famous person I'd ever met.
I had to hang around the venue for a bit after the end of the show, and so I saw him leaving the venue. I said good bye and he held up bottle of liquor and said "YARRRRRR" as he walked out the door. Pretty fantastic.
