Game summary:  Caracas led 5-0 before Lara scored three in the ninth to make it close.

Lara:  Tomas Perez was 2-for-3 with a walk and a double, scoring once and driving in one.  Guillermo Quiroz hit a two-run homer.

Caracas:  Yoanner Negrin (Cubs) pitched five shutout innings, giving up two hits.  Darren Ford (Seattle) was 2-for-4 with a walk, scoring twice.

MAGALLANES 9, ZULIA 4 IN ZULIA

Game summary:  A four-run sixth gave Magallanes a 7-1 lead.  Zulia made six errors, leading to four unearned runs.

Magallanes:  Johermyn Chavez (Seattle) was 3-for-5 with a home run, scoring twice and driving in four.  Sergio Perez (Houston) allowed an unearned run on two hits with five strikeouts in five innings.

Zulia:  Jose Pirela (Yankees) was 2-for-3 with a walk and a double.
