LARA 9, ARAGUA 1 IN ARAGUA

TwinsOswaldo Arcia (Aragua) was 0-for-4.  Josmil Pinto (Aragua) was 1-for-3.  Dakota Watts (Aragua) gave up one run on two hits in 1.1 innings.

Game summary:  Lara scored two in the second and led the rest of the way.  Aragua’s lone run came in the fifth to make it 4-1.  Lara made it 7-1 in the seventh.

Lara:  Brian Sweeney gave up one run on five hits and no walks in six innings.  Jose Lopez was 2-for-3 with a three-run homer, a double, and two walks, scoring three times.

Aragua:  Jonel Pacheco was 2-for-3 with a home run.  Jose Martinez (Houston) was 2-for-4 with a double.

ZULIA 4, MARGARITA 1 IN MARGARITA

TwinsDarin Mastroianni (Zulia) was 1-for-4 with a double.

Game summary:  Zulia scored three in the fifth to take a 4-0 lead.  Margarita got it’s only run in the eighth.

Zulia:  Wilfredo Boscan (San Diego) struck out five in five innings, giving up two hits and three walks.  Evan Gattis (Atlanta) was 2-for-4 with a home run.

Margarita:  Leonardo Astarga worked 3.2 scoreless innings, allowing two hits.  Dave Sappelt (Cubs) was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

LA GUAIRA 11, ANZOATEGUI 0 IN LA GUAIRA

Game summary:  La Guaira scored four in the third and four in the fourth.

Anzoategui:  Johermyn Chavez (Cubs) was 2-for-3.  Luis Nunez was 2-for-4.

La Guaira:  Tyson Brummett (Toronto) struck out five in five innings, allowing three hits and no walks.  Salvador Perez (Kansas City) was 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBIs.
