8pm Minnesota Gophers -v- Illinois

It seems like there is little buzz about this pretty good matchup. Is it because its on BTN and not on ESPN? I dunno.

my remote will be getting a workout

  1. I don't think the Wolves will have as much luck against the Thunder as they did in their last match up.

  2. By the end of this game the Wolves are going to convince me that they will have a chance against OKC in the 1/8 playoff matchup.

  3. One thing I love about the Wolves since Adelman and his staff has taken over is that the Wolves never give up. They are competitive in most games (I mean everyone is going to have a blowout loss or 2 every year) and they play hard even though they have like 4 healthy players.

    1. Yeah, it's nice to be cheering for a team that has a coach who knows what the hell he's doing.

  4. I'm finding myself fairly torn over OKC. I want to like them because of Durant, but I find myself hating them because of the former Seattle thing and Westbrook.

    1. Yeah, that feeling I had that went away and came back again is gone again.

Did I mention how much I dislike Westbrook?

          1. Also, it appears Brian Westbrook isn't really his cousin and also he's retired.

            Man, that was a disaster!

  5. Among the things I never want to see again: Derrick Williams doing anything on offense other than spot shooting off a pass. That turn around "post move" was... not good.

    1. he is so slow in his motions. the way he dribbles, drives the basket, spins. Everything but a spot shot.
Its like he is thinking while he has the ball instead of letting his game flow naturally.

  6. So I'm calling this one a loss, but I'm blaming it on having it being the back end of a home-away back-to-back. That's a valid excuse and will be reflected in the game story, right?

  7. Gophers up at the half, so that's good. I think the Gophers have a really good record (better than expected?) when they lead at the half.

  8. I dont have the stats, but it sure seems like the Gophers are mopping up the rebounds on both ends of the floor.

    1. Only +2 tonight. Gophers leading the nation in offensive rebounding, but only have 7 tonight with four minutes left.

  9. Gophers 3-0 in the B1G for the first time (officially) since 1975. Can't wait for Sunday.

  10. that was a quality win. Illinois really made a charge in the first part of 2nd half and the Gophers took that blow and dominated the last past of the second half.

  11. @JeffEisenberg

Takeaway from tonight: Even at home, Indiana is going to have its hands full with Minnesota. Gophers are very good.
