MAYAGUEZ 4, CAGUAS 2 IN MAYAGUEZ

Twins: Daniel Ortiz (Mayaguez) was 0-for-2 with two walks and scored once. Eddie Rosario (Mayaguez) was 1-for-3 with a triple, scoring once and driving in two. Kennys Vargas (Mayaguez) was 1-for-3.

Game summary: Caguas scored in the seventh to take a 2-0 lead. Mayaguez came back with four in the bottom of the seventh. Rosario tripled in the first two runs and came around to score the go-ahead run.

Caguas: Carlos Rivera was 2-for-4 and scored once. Jose De La Torre (Boston) retired all four batters he faced.

Mayaguez: Matt DeSalvo allowed one run on five hits and no walks in four innings. Randy Ruiz (White Sox) was 1-for-3 with a home run.

SANTURCE 5, CAROLINA 1 IN CAROLINA

Game summary: Santurce got two in the third and two in the sixth to take a 4-0 lead. The lone Carolina run came in the bottom of the sixth, but Santurce got it back in the seventh.

Santurce: Tomas Santiago gave up an unearned run on two hits and three walks in 5.1 innings. Fehlandt Lentini was 3-for-5 with a run and an RBI.

Carolina: Tony Thomas (Boston) was 1-for-3 with a walk. Raul Rivera (Houston) pitched a perfect inning.
