ROCHESTER 14, BUFFALO 5 IN ROCHESTER

Batting starsChris Colabello was 4-for-4 with a walk and a two-run homer, scoring three times.  Oswaldo Arcia was 3-for-4 with a double and a walk, scoring three times and driving in two.  Clete Thomas was 3-for-5 with a double and a home run, scoring twice and driving in five.

Pitching starAnthony Slama pitched a scoreless inning, walking one and striking out one.

Opposition stars:  Andy LaRoche was 2-for-3 with two home runs and a walk.  Jim Negrych was 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, scoring twice.

Key inning:  The second.  Rochester scored five in the first, but Buffalo bounced back with two in the top of the second.  The Red Wings then got five more in the bottom of the second.  Arcia had an RBI double, Colabello hit a two-run homer, and Eric Fryer and Doug Bernier delivered RBI singles.

RICHMOND 3, NEW BRITAIN 2 IN RICHMOND (11 INNINGS)

Batting starsJosmil Pinto was 1-for-5 with a home run and a walk.  Daniel Ortiz was 1-for-4 with a triple and two walks.

Pitching starsAlex Meyer struck out eight in five innings, giving up one run on six hits and a walk.  Jose Gonzalez struck out three in two perfect innings.

Opposition stars:  Adam Duvall was 2-for-5 with two doubles and scored once.  Ehire Adrianza was 2-for-5 with a double and scored once.  Andrew Susac was 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI.

Key inning:  The ninth.  New Britain led 2-1.  Richmond had a runner on second with two out when Susac delivered an RBI double off Michael Tonkin to tie the score.

FORT MYERS 9, BRADENTON 8 IN BRADENTON (10 INNINGS)

Batting starsEddie Rosario was 4-for-6 with a double, scoring twice and driving in one.  Miguel Sano was 3-for-6 with a double and scored once.  Michael Gonzales was 2-for-4 with a double, a home run, and a walk, scoring twice and driving in three.

Pitching starsChad Rogers pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up two hits.  Corey Williams pitched a perfect tenth.

Opposition stars:  Jacob Stallings was 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, driving in two.  Dan Gamache was 3-for-5 and scored once.  Robert Kilcrease struck out three in 2.2 scoreless innings, allowing one hit.

Key inning:  The tenth.  With the score tied at eight, the first to Miracle batters when out.  Gonzales then hit a home run to provide the game-winning run.

CEDAR RAPIDS 9, BELOIT 1 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

Batting starsByron Buxton was 4-for-5 with a double and a triple, scoring once.  Dalton Hicks was 3-for-4 with two doubles and a walk, scoring twice and driving in two.  Travis Harrison was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.

Pitching starsTyler Duffey pitched seven perfect innings, striking out seven.  Tim Atherton struck out three in a scoreless inning, walking one.  Beloit had no hits--their run scored on three walks and a sacrifice fly.

Opposition stars:  Derek De Young allowed one run on five hits and two walks in 4.1 innings.

Key inning:  The fourth.  Already ahead 4-0, the Kernels scored four times on a single, an error, and three doubles.  The doubles were by Hicks, Harrison, and J. D. Williams.
