WGOM Fitness, 26 April 2013: Sleep is Optional, I Guess

Yesterday, as I mentioned, was getaway day. That means up at 3:30 AM, drive, work, drive some more.

Amazingly enough, when the day is over, I don't feel sleepy. Last night, I got to my parents' house about 10:00. Already up for 18.5 hours, I should probably have gone to bed. But, I was calorie deficient, so I got into some peanuts and got up to around 1800 calories. I stayed up until 11:30. 20 hours. Then, of course, this morning I woke up at 5:00 AM. Of course. I stayed in bed for about an hour more (awake). But, good lord, I should have been crashing. So, I got up around 6, went to work where I am now, facing a big project today and... tired.

Weighed 217.0 on the heavy scale, down a little from yesterday, but also I weighed several hours later.

My family is coming up here tonight, so let's see if (a) I get any workout in and (b) if I eat reasonably well.

I have come to the realization that watching what I eat will be a permanent thing. I do want to expand my diet some, so I will work on that, but generally, I am going to try to focus on staples and simple foods. I feel like I've weathered a storm here, so that's good.

  1. Watching what you eat is definitely a permanent thing. You get to where you can cheat a little once in a while, but that's a dangerous thing, at least for me. Cheating on the diet once in a while just makes me want to cheat on it more.

    1. What I need is picture of the 285 pound version of me taped to the pantry and/or refrigerator.

    2. This. There are times when I can cheat a little - targetted cheating, where I know it's coming in advance - and it doesn't knock me off the rails as much, but otherwise it can just build on itself.

I didn't manage a workout the last two days. Today is my last day before a week of vacation. I'm not leaving for home until I've gotten a workout in, just to make sure I've gotten in at least one more, and it was a "low" week for workouts instead of a "virtually-non-existent" week.
