    1. Interleague game I'm assuming against the Marlins, so that limits it to these games. Can cross off anything after 2008, which are just the two 2013 games (thus far).

        1. Huh. How did I miss that 6-22 game?

Kubel PH in that game, doubling in the 8th. Not that game.

    2. Is that Li'l Nicky?

in 2007, Jacobs started at home against the Twins on June 23 and 24. On June 23, Punto went 0-4 with two walks. Jacobs played the whole game at 1b.

On the 24th, Punto went 1-3 (single) with a walk. Aaron Boone started at 1b, with Jacobs replacing him in the top of the 4th (Punto had previously walked and scored in that inning). Punto singled in the 2nd.

So it pretty much had to be the 23rd if the photo is from 2007.

      1. It looks like there are two digits in the number and it looks like Kubes, who wore 16.

      2. wait. Inspecting the helmet, that's a left-handed batter. Ugh. Is it Kubel?

On the 23rd, Kubel went 3-4 (3 singles) with an IBB. He singled in the 2nd to score Hunter from 3rd; was IBB'd to load the bases in the third. Since Jacobs is holding him on, that ain't it. He reached on a FC in the 5th; singled in the 6th; singled to lead off the 8th with the Twins leading 10-1, so I doubt Jacobs was holding him on there.

On the 24th, Kubel grounded out in the 4th before Jacobs came on, doubled in the 5th and walked in the 7th.

    3. Looking at the scoreboard, can see the A's losing to the Mets, 2-5. The A's lost to the Mets 1-9 on the 22nd plus Jacobs didn't play that day, so that's out. The A's-Mets score on the 23rd was 0-1, so that day is also out. On the 24th, they lost 2-10, so it must have been taken on the 24th.

      1. Kubel went 1-3 with one walk. His one hit, in the fifth, was a double. His walk came in the top of the seventh. One of Luis Rodriguez or Nick Punto is batting. Assuming it's Kubel on first.

        1. yea, the scoreboard shows the Marlins batting order had SS-3b-LF in a row. That's the 24th. It also seems to show a number 20 at catcher for the Twins????

          1. Matt Treanor caught that game for the Marlins and he wore 20. Also of note: that's Willingham in left and Miguel Cabrera at third.

            1. Whoops. It was on the 23rd that the Marlins had 2-SS, 24-3b, 14-LF in order. [ed: never mind. they were in that order on both dates] Ok, now I am really confused, because I assumed that the numbers on the left were the Marlins (Ramirez was 2 at SS, Cabrera 24 at 3b, Willingham 14 in LF). Why would Treanor's 20 be in the right-hand column? And he didn't catch on the 23rd. That was Olivo.

              1. I am equally confused about the two columns. It might be that there are two groups of 2x5. There appears to be a separator above the SS/CF row, but it could be an artifact of how the shot was framed. That, however would imply it was a group of six and Treanor did not bat after Willingham. Time to look for some shots of the left field scoreboard in that stadium.

                1. this pic clearly shows that each team's lineup was in two columns, with the two teams' lists separated by the Benihana advert.

      1. Rodriguez had only a walk in the June 24 game, which came in the fourth. He scored (on Santana's grounder that was mishandled by Aaron Boone) before Jacobs came into the game.

        1. ok, Im taking a closer look at it now and I think I see the bottom of a '1'by the wristband.

it doesnt look like Kubes, but I guess it is

    1. Nice to see them giving air time to a couple of teams that don't get much publicity.

  1. PLEASE NOTE: Minor Details will not be seen Monday, as I will be out of range of the internets. Unless something unexpected happens, Minor Details will be back Tuesday.
