Batting stars:  Jermaine Mitchell was 3-for-4 with a walk and a home run (his sixth), scoring three times and driving in four.  Brian Dinkelman was 2-for-3 with a walk and a double, scoring twice and driving in two.  Antoan Richardson was 2-for-4 with two walks, scoring once and driving in one.

Pitching star:  Cody Eppley struck out three in 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and one walk.

Opposition stars:  Xander Bogaerts was 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs.  Mark Hamilton was 2-for-4 with a walk and a home run, scoring twice.  Will Middlebrooks was 2-for-5 with an RBI.

Key inning:  The first.  The Red Wings scored six times on a double, four singles, three walks, an error, and a hit batsman.  Mitchell had a two-run single, Dinkelman an RBI double, and Richardson an RBI single.

"Prospect" watch:  Chris Colabello was 0-for-4 with a walk.  Vance Worley pitched six innings, giving up three runs on six hits and three walks while striking out four.

Batting stars:  Josmil Pinto was 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.  Reynaldo Rodriguez was 2-for-4 and scored once.

Pitching star:  Tom Stuifbergen pitched six innings, giving up two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out four.

Opposition stars:  Keith Couch pitched 7.2 innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and four walks.  Garin Cecchini was 2-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in one.

Key inning:  The eighth.  The SeaDogs trailed 3-2.  A pair of walks and a pair of stolen bases put runners on second and third with two out.  Shannon Wilkerson then singled off Bruce Pugh in his second inning of work, driving in both runs to give Portland the lead.

Prospect watch:  Miguel Sano was 1-for-3 with a walk.  Eddie Rosario was 1-for-4 with a double and scored once.

FORT MYERS 3, ST. LUCIE 0 IN ST. LUCIE

Batting stars:  Mike Kvasnicka was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.  Levi Michael was 2-for-5 and scored once.

Pitching star:  Matthew Summers struck out seven in a complete game, giving up two hits and no walks.

Opposition stars:  Angel Cuan struck out three in two shutout innings, allowing one hit.

Key inning:  The first.  All the runs were scored before the Mets came to bat.  Michael led off with a single.  With one out, Byron Buxton and Kennys Vargas singled to put the Miracle on the board.  A hit batsman loaded the bases, a sacrifice fly brought in the second run, and back-to-back walks plated the third run.

Prospect watch:  Buxton was 1-for-4 and scored once.  Vargas was 1-for-4 with a run and an RBI.

CLINTON 5, CEDAR RAPIDS 3 IN CLINTON

Batting stars:  Adam Brett Walker II was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.  Tyler Grimes was 2-for-3 and scored once.

Pitching stars:  Hudson Boyd struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.  David Hurlbut pitched a perfect inning with one strikeout.

Opposition stars:  Scott DeCecco pitched seven innings, allowing one run on five hits and a walk.  Martin Peguero was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.  Marcus Littlewood was 2-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in one.

Key inning:  The second.  In a scoreless tie, Littlewood hit a one-out double followed by a walk.  A wild pitch advanced the runners, a sacrifice fly scored the first run, and Tim Lopes singled to give the LumberKings an early 2-0 lead.

Prospect watch:  Jorge Polanco was 1-for-4 with a double and scored once.  Dalton Hicks was 1-for-4 with a run and an RBI.  Max Kepler was 1-for-4.

Key inning:  The tenth.  The score was tied at four.  With two out, Nathaniel Javier singled, took second on a passed ball and scored on a double by Rivas to give the Giants the lead.

Prospect watch:  Frank Encarnacion was 1-for-4.  Dubal Baez was 0-for-1.
