Chris Colabello goes deep again.  A solid outing for Tyler Duffey.  The E-Twins lose their third straight.

SCRANTON/WILKES-BARRE 8, ROCHESTER 7 IN SCRANTON/WILKES-BARRE

Batting starsChris Colabello was 3-for-4 with a walk, a home run (his twenty-second), and two RBIs.  Ray Olmedo was 2-for-4 with a double and a two-run homer, his first.  James Beresford was 3-for-4 and scored twice.

Pitching starMichael Tonkin pitched a scoreless inning, giving up one hit and no walks while striking out one.

Opposition stars:  Brent Lillibridge was 3-for-4 with a double and a home run, scoring twice and driving in two.  Bobby Wilson was 2-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in two.  Thomas Neal was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.

Key inning:  The ninth.  The score was tied at seven.  With two out and none on, Neal singled, took second on a wild pitch, and scored on a double by Lillibridge to end the game.  The run scored off Shairon Martis in his second inning of work.

"Prospect" watchAntoan Richardson was 0-for-4 with a walk and scored once.  Pedro Hernandez pitched six innings, giving up seven runs on ten hits and a walk while striking out five.

FORT MYERS 5, JUPITER 2 IN FORT MYERS

Batting starsLance Ray was 2-for-3 with a two-run homer, his first.  Byron Buxton was 1-for-3 with a walk and a triple, scoring once and driving in one.  Stephen Wickens was 1-for-3 with a walk and scored twice.

Pitching starsTyler Duffey struck out five in six innings, giving up two runs on five hits and a walk.  Jose Gonzalez struck out four in two shutout innings, giving up two hits and two walks.  Corey Williams gave up one hit in a scoreless inning, striking out one.

Opposition stars:  Ryan Rieger was 2-for-4 with a triple and scored once.  Greg Nappo struck out four in 2.2 scoreless innings, allowing two hits.

Key inning:  The first.  It was a scoreless tie.  Aderlin Mejia led off with a single.  With one out, Buxton hit an RBI triple and scored on a Kennys Vargas double to give the Miracle and early 2-0 lead.

Prospect watchMejia was 1-for-3 with a walk and scored once.  Vargas was 1-for-4 with an RBI.  Mike Kvasnicka was 0-for-4.

BURLINGTON 5, ELIZABETHTON 4 IN ELIZABETHTON

Batting starsRyan Walker was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.  Rory Rhodes was 2-for-5 with a double and scored twice.  Dereck Rodriguez was 1-for-1 with two walks, a hit-by-pitch, and a home run, his first.

Pitching starsKuo Hua Lo struck out two in a perfect inning.  Ryan Eades pitched a scoreless inning, giving up two hits and striking out one.

Opposition stars:  Mauricio Ramos was 2-for-5 with two doubles, scoring once and driving in two.  Desmond Henry was 2-for-5 and scored once.

Key inning:  The seventh.  Leading 3-2, the Royals scored twice on two singles and a two-run double by Ramos.  The Twins got single runs in the eighth and ninth but did not get the tying run past first base.

Prospect watchZach Granite was 1-for-5.  Kelvin Ortiz was 0-for-4 with a walk and scored once.  Romy Jimenez was 1-for-5.

GCL RAYS 3, GCL TWINS 2 AT RAYS

Batting starsZach Larson was 2-for-2 with two walks, a double, and an RBI.  Jason Kanzler was 1-for-2 with three walks and a home run (his first), scoring twice.  Alex Swim was 1-for-2 with two walks and a double.

Pitching starDaniel Sattler struck out two in two perfect innings.

Opposition stars:  Thomas Milone was 2-for-4 and scored twice.  Erick Vasquez was 2-for-4 and scored once.

Key inning:  The ninth.  The score was tied at two.  With one out, Milone singled, stole second, went to third on a Vasquez single, and scored on a sacrifice fly to end the game.

Prospect watchWill Hurt was 0-for-4 with a walk.  Amaurys Minier was 0-for-4.  Engelb Vielma was 0-for-4.

    1. ...and batting .340 with 4 XBH (2 doubles, 1 triple, 1 homer) through 50 at bats. Triple S, of course, but I = Excited.
