Andrew Albers is quietly having a very good year in Rochester.  Sano and Rosario go 0-for-8, but the Rock Cats win anyway.  Wilkin Ramirez hits his first home run on his rehab assignment.

LEHIGH VALLEY 2, ROCHESTER 1 IN LEHIGH VALLEY

Batting stars:  Chris Parmelee was 3-for-4 with a double.  Deibinson Romero was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Pitching star:  Andrew Albers pitched his second consecutive complete game, giving up two runs on five hits and a walk with four strikeouts.

Opposition stars:  Greg Smith pitched 7.1 innings, allowing one run on seven hits and a walk with three strikeouts.  Tyler Henson was 1-for-2 with a walk and a home run.

Key inning:  The sixth.  The Red Wings trailed 2-0.  Singles by Eric Farris and Parmelee opened the inning.  With one out, Romero doubled to make it 2-1 with runners on second and third.  Eric Fryer walked to load the bases, but Ray Olmedo was retired on a short fly ball and Jermaine Mitchell grounded out to end the threat.

Prospect watch:  Eduardo Escobar was 1-for-5 with a double.  Oswaldo Arcia was 0-for-3 and was hit by a pitch.

NEW BRITAIN 5, AKRON 2 IN NEW BRITAIN

Batting stars:  Danny Santana was 2-for-3 with a walk.  Josmil Pinto was 2-for-4 and scored twice.

Pitching stars:  Pat Dean pitched 7.2 innings, giving up two runs on seven hits and no walks with two strikeouts.  Cole Johnson struck out two in 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up no hits and one walk.

Opposition stars:  Jesus Aguilar was 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, and an RBI.  Francisco Lindor was 2-for-4 and scored once.

Key inning:  The fourth.  The Rock Cats led 2-0.  Pinto singled and Dan Rohlfing walked to start the inning.  With one out, Daniel Ortiz hit a three-run homer to make it 5-0.

Prospect watch:  Eddie Rosario was 0-for-4.  Miguel Sano was 0-for-4.

DAYTONA 2, FORT MYERS 1 IN FORT MYERS

Batting stars:  Mike Kvasnicka was 2-for-4 with a double and scored once.  Jhon Goncalves was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Pitching stars:  Jason Wheeler pitched six innings, giving up one run on seven hits and one walk with three strikeouts.  Steven Gruver pitched two shutout innings, giving up three hits and a walk with one strikeout.

Opposition stars:  Ivan Pineyro struck out seven in six shutout innings, allowing three hits and no walks.  Anthony Giansanti was 3-for-4 with a double.  Pin-Chieh Chen was 3-for-3 and scored once.

Key inning:  The ninth.  The score was tied at one.  With one out, Chen singled and went to second on a passed ball.  A second out was recorded, but Elliot Soto singled to drive in the go-ahead run.  The run scored off Zach Jones, who came in to start the inning.

Prospect watch:  Dalton Hicks was 0-for-4.  Kennys Vargas was 1-for-4 with a double.  Jones gave up an unearned run on two hits in one inning, striking out one.

BURLINGTON 3, CEDAR RAPIDS 1 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

Batting star:  Joel Licon was 1-for-3 with a double and scored once.

Pitching stars:  Josue Montanez pitched five innings, giving up three unearned runs on four hits and two walks with three strikeouts.  Tim Shibuya pitched three shutout innings, giving up two hits and no walks with two strikeouts.

Opposition stars:  Ryan Crowley struck out eight in eight innings, allowing one run on three hits and no walks.  Sherman Johnson was 2-for-3 with a walk and a double and scored once.  Zach Wright was 2-for-4 with a double and scored once.

Key inning:  The second.  It was a scoreless tie.  Wright hit a one-out double.  With two down, an error allowed him to score the first run of the game.  The Kernels made four errors in the game, resulting in three unearned runs.

Prospect watch:  Jorge Polanco was 1-for-4.  Adam Brett Walker II was 1-for-4 with a double.  Max Kepler was 0-for-3.

KINGSPORT 9, ELIZABETHTON 4 IN ELIZABETHTON

Batting stars:  Bryan Haar was 3-for-5 with a double, scoring once and driving in two.  Kelvin Ortiz was 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, and two RBIs.  Tanner Vavra was 2-for-4.

Pitching stars:  Aaron Slegers struck out three in 3.1 scoreless innings, giving up four hits and one walk.  Brandon Peterson struck out one in a perfect inning.

Opposition stars:  Jayckol De Leon was 4-for-5, scoring once and driving in one.  Pedro Perez was 3-for-4, scoring once and driving in two.

Key inning:  The fifth.  The Mets led 3-2 when they scored six times.  Kingsport got an error, two walks, three singles, and a double, in that order.  The big hit of the inning was a three-run double by Richie Rodriguez.

Prospect watch:  Zach Granite was 1-for-4 with a walk, scoring twice.  Dereck Rodriguez was 0-for-4 and scored once.  Yorman Landa struck out four in four innings but gave up three runs on four hits and three walks.

GCL TWINS 3, GCL RAYS 0 AT RAYS

Batting stars:  Jacob Kanzler was 2-for-4 with a walk and a triple, scoring once and driving in one.  Will Hurt was 0-for-1 with three walks.

Pitching stars:  Lewis Thorpe struck out four in five innings, giving up four hits and no walks.  Sam Gibbons struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up no hits and one walk.  Miguel Gonzalez struck out two in a scoreless inning, giving up two hits.

Opposition star:  Freddy Alvarez pitched four innings, allowing one run on two hits and a walk with three strikeouts.

Key inning:  The first.  Kanzler led off the game with a triple and scored on a wild pitch to give the Twins the early lead.

Batting star:  Frank Encarnacion was 1-for-3 with a walk.

Pitching stars:  Eduardo Del Rosario pitched three innings, giving up one run on one hit and three walks with one strikeout.  Sebastian Perez struck out three in a scoreless inning, giving up one hit and one walk.

Opposition stars:  Eusebio Encarnacion pitched 6.1 innings, allowing two unearned runs on four hits and three walks with four strikeouts.  Carlos Cartegena was 2-for-4 with a walk and a triple, scoring once and driving in three.  Miguel Gomez was 2-for-4 with a walk and a triple, scoring once.

Key inning:  The fifth.  The Giants led 1-0.  A double and two walks loaded the bases.  A double play brought the first run home.  Following another walk, a wild pitch brought home a second run and a throwing error plated a third to make it 4-0.

Prospect watch:  Dubal Baez was 1-for-5 with an RBI.  Joel Ramirez was 0-for-2 with two walks.  Williams Ramirez pitched two innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on one hit and three walks with two strikeouts.
