ROCHESTER 4, DURHAM 2 IN DURHAM

Batting starsJeff Clement was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI.  Josmil Pinto was 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI.  Chris Parmelee was 2-for-3 with a walk and scored once.

Pitching starPat Dean, in his AAA debut, pitched seven shutout innings, giving up two hits and three walks with four strikeouts.

Opposition stars:  Matt Buschmann struck out nine in 5.2 innings, allowing one run on five hits and four walks.  Vince Belnome was 1-for-2 with two walks.

Key inning:  The ninth.  The Bulls trailed 4-0.  A walk and two singles loaded the bases with none out.  A force out made it 4-1 and a Leslie Anderson single made it 4-2.  Shairon Martis came in to pitch and the first man he faced reached on an error, loading the bases.  A strikeout and a force out ended the threat and the game.

Prospect watchEduardo Escobar was 1-for-3 with a walk, scoring once and driving in one.  Aaron Hicks was 0-for-4 with a walk.  Josh Willingham, on a rehab assignment, was 0-for-3 with a walk.

TAMPA 6, FORT MYERS 5 IN TAMPA

Batting starsStephen Wickens was 2-for-4 and scored twice.  Levi Michael was 1-for-3 with a walk, a double, and an RBI.

Pitching starSteven Gruver pitched two shutout innings, giving up one hit and two walks.

Opposition stars:  Matt Snyder was 2-for-4 with a home run.  Ali Castillo was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.  Robert Refsnyder was 1-for-1 with three walks, scoring once and driving in one.

Key inning:  The ninth.  The Yankees trailed 5-4.  Refsnyder opened the inning with a walk and with one out, Peter O'Brien hit a two-run walk off homer.  The runs came off Adrian Salcedo, who was in his second inning of work.

Prospect watchByron Buxton was 1-for-4 with a walk.  Darin Mastroianni, on a rehab assignment, was 0-for-3 with two walks.  Dalton Hicks was 1-for-5 and scored once.  Mike Kvasnicka was 0-for-4 and scored once.  Aderlin Mejia was 0-for-3 with a walk.

QUAD CITIES 6, CEDAR RAPIDS 2 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

Batting starAdam Brett Walker II was 2-for-4 with a double and a home run, his twenty-fourth.

Pitching starsHudson Boyd pitched two shutout innings, giving up one hit and one walk with one strikeout.  Alex Muren pitched a perfect inning with one strikeout.

Opposition stars:  Josh Hader pitched six shutout innings, allowing one hit and no walks with two strikeouts.  Carlos Correa was 3-for-4 with a walk, scoring twice and driving in one.  Anthony Kemp was 2-for-4 with a walk and a double, scoring once.

Key inning:  The first.  The River Bandits opened the game with a single, a walk, and another single to load the bases with none out.  The next two batters went out, but Rio Ruiz hit a two-run single and Jobduan Morales hit an RBI single to make the score 3-0 before the Kernels came to bat.  The runs came off Christian Powell, who surrendered five runs on nine hits and two walks with five innings, striking out four.

Prospect watchJorge Polanco was 0-for-4 and scored once.  Max Kepler was 0-for-4.

GCL TWINS 2, GCL RAYS 0 AT TWINS

Batting stars:  Brian Navarreto was 2-for-3 with a double.  Zach Larson was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Pitching stars:  Cole DeVries, on a rehab assignment, struck out four in three perfect innings.  Sam Gibbons struck out four in four shutout innings, giving up two hits and no walks.  Zach Hayden struck out two in a scoreless inning, giving up one hit and no walks.

Opposition stars:  Starter Grayson Garvin struck out three in three shutout innings, giving up three hits and no walks.  Riley Unroe was 2-for-4 with a double.

Key inning:  The fourth.  It was a scoreless tie.  Alex Swim singled with one out, went to third on a double by Navarreto, and scored on a balk to give the Twins the lead.

Prospect watch:  Swim was 1-for-3 and scored once.  Engelb Vielma was 1-for-2 with a walk and scored once.  Lester Oliveros, on a rehab assignment, pitched a scoreless inning, giving up two hits.

DSL TWINS 4, DSL WHITE SOX 3 AT TWINS

Batting stars:  Jet Hernandez was 2-for-3 and scored once.  Ariel Montesino was 2-for-4 and scored twice.  Francis Mateo was 2-for-4.

Pitching stars:  Eduardo Del Rosario started and pitched four innings, giving up an unearned run on two hits and no walks with three strikeouts.  Sebastian Perez pitched three innings, giving up one run on two hits and no walks with two strikeouts.

Opposition stars:  Carlos Gonzalez was 3-for-3.  Franco Pizzoli was 2-for-4 with two doubles and scored once.

Key inning:  The ninth.  The Twins led 4-2.  Jhon Silva was in his second inning.  A walk, a one-out double by Pizzoli, and a single by Hanleth Otano made it 4-3 with tying run on third.  A strikeout and a ground out ended the game.

Prospect watch:  Joel Ramirez was 1-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.  Dubal Baez was 0-for-3 with a walk.  Silva struck out three in two innings, giving up one run on three hits and a walk.
