BUFFALO 6, ROCHESTER 2 IN BUFFALO

Batting stars:  James Beresford was 2-for-4.  Ray Olmedo was 2-for-4.  Darin Mastroianni was 1-for-2 with two walks and scored once.

Pitching stars:  Virgil Vasquez pitched three innings, giving up an unearned run on two hits and no walks with three strikeouts.

Opposition stars:  Chien-Ming Wang pitched six innings, allowing two runs on six hits and three walks with five strikeouts.  Mike McCoy was 2-for-5 with two doubles and scored twice.  Ricardo Nanita was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs.

Key inning:  The third.  The Bisons led 2-1.  A leadoff double by McCoy, a one-out double by Moises Sierra, and a two-out single by Andy LaRoche plated two runs and made the score 4-1.

Prospect watch:  Eduardo Escobar was 1-for-5 and scored once.  Chris Parmelee was 1-for-3 with a walk and a double, driving in one.  Josmil Pinto was 0-for-4.

BINGHAMTON 1, NEW BRITAIN 0 IN BINGHAMTON

Batting stars:  Reynaldo Rodrgiuez was 2-for-4 with a double.  Danny Santana was 2-for-4.

Pitching stars:  Cole DeVries pitched five innings, giving up one run on three hits and no walks with three strikeouts.  Daniel Turpen struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up one hit and two walks.  Dakota Watts pitched a perfect inning with one strikeout.

Opposition stars:  Noah Syndergaard struck out ten in five shutout innings, allowing three hits and no walks.  Rhyne Hughes was 2-for-2 and was hit by a pitch.

Key inning:  The third.  It was a scoreless tie.  Blake Forsythe led off the inning with a home run for the only run of the game.

Prospect watch:  Eddie Rosario was 0-for-3 and is now 0 for his last 11.  Miguel Sano was 0-for-4 and is now 0 for his last 15.

BRADENTON 8, FORT MYERS 4 IN BRADENTON

Batting stars:  Dalton Hicks was 2-for-4 with a three-run homer, his fourth.  Byron Buxton was 2-for-4 and scored once.  Jhon Goncalves was 1-for-3 with two walks and scored once.

Pitching star:  Corey Williams struck out two in 2.1 scoreless innings, allowing no hits but three walks.

Opposition stars:  Jacob Stallings was 2-for-3 with a walk and two home runs.  Jose Osuna was 2-for-4 with a double and a two-run homer.  Gift Ngoepe was 0-for-1 with three walks and scored twice.

Key inning:  The first.  In a scoreless tie, the Marauders scored five times.  Ngoepe drew a one-out walk.  With two out, Willy Garcia hit a two-run homer, Dan Gamache walked, Osuna, hit a two-run homer, and Stallings hit a solo homer.  The damage came off Manuel Soliman, who pitched only two innings.

Prospect watch:  Mike Kvasnicka was 1-for-1 as a pinch-hitter.  Steven Gruver pitched 2.2 innings, giving up one run on three hits and a walk with one strikeout.

CEDAR RAPIDS 6, BELOIT 5 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

Batting stars:  Max Kepler was 2-for-4 with a triple and a home run (his seventh), driving in three.  Joel Licon was 2-for-4 with a double and scored once.

Pitching star:  Dallas Gallant struck out three in 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up no hits and one walk.

Opposition stars:  John Wooten was 3-for-4 with two doubles and a home run, driving in two.  Daniel Robertson was 3-for-5 with two RBIs.  Dayton Alexander was 2-for-2 with two walks and scored once.

Key inning:  The sixth.  It was a 2-2 tie.  With two out and none on, Mike Gonzales doubled, Travis Harrison walked, and two errors scored three runs to make the score 5-2.

Prospect watch:  Adam Brett Walker II was 0-for-3 with a walk.  Brett Lee struck out four in 4.2 innings, giving up two runs on six hits and two walks.

ELIZABETHTON 3, JOHNSON CITY 2 IN ELIZABETHTON (14 INNINGS)

Batting stars:  Rory Rhodes was 2-for-4 with two walks and an RBI.  Byran Haar was 2-for-6.  Zach Larson was 2-for-6.

Pitching stars:  Felix Jorge struck out seven in seven innings, giving up two runs on four hits and two walks.  Aaron Slegers struck out four in three shutout innings, giving up no hits and no walks.  Brandon Peterson struck out five in three shutout innings, giving up one hit and one walk.

Opposition stars:  Michael Holback struck out nine in six innings, allowing one run on four hits and two walks.  Norge Paredes struck out five in four shutout innings, allowing three hits and two walks.  Richy Pedroza was 2-for-6 with a double and two RBIs.

Key inning:  The fourteenth.  The score was tied at two.  Tanner Vavra and Zach Granite led off the inning with singles.  Ryan Walker walked to load the bases with none out.  A wild pitch scored the winning run.

Prospect watch:  Granite was 1-for-6 with a walk and scored once.  Romy Jimenez had a pinch-hit double in his only at-bat.

GCL TWINS 7, GCL RED SOX 3 AT RED SOX

Batting stars:  Jason Kanzler was 3-for-5 with a double and scored twice.  Jonatan Hinojosa was 2-for-5 with a double, scoring once and driving in two.  Ivory Thomas was 2-for-5 and scored once.

Pitching stars:  Josh Guyer pitched three innings, giving up one run on two hits and a walk with two strikeouts.  Miguel Gonzalez struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up one hit and no walks.  Tyler Stirewalt struck out two in a scoreless inning, giving up no hits and one walk.

Opposition stars:  Jordan Austin was 2-for-5 with two doubles and scored twice.  Aneudis Peralta was 2-for-4 with an RBI.  Jon Denney was 0-for-1 with three walks.

Key inning:  The sixth.  The Twins trailed 3-1.  Alex Swim singled with one out.  An error put two on with two out.  Hinojosa doubled to bring in both runners home and tie the score.  He went to third on a passed ball and scored on a Will Hurt single.  All seven Twins runs in the game were unearned, as the Red Sox made six errors.

Prospect watch:  Adonis Pacheco was 1-for-5.  Swim was 1-for-4 with a walk and scored twice.

DSL TWINS 1, DSL REDS 0 AT REDS

Batting stars:  Ariel Montesino was 1-for-2 with a walk and scored once.  Rainis Silva was 1-for-2 with a walk.

Pitching stars:  Wilfredy Liranzo started and struck out nine in four innings, giving up two hits and three walks.  Robener Cabrera struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up three hits and no walks.  Carlos Aponte struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up one hit and no walks.

Opposition stars:  Jacob Constante struck out nine in six shutout innings, allowing two hits and two walks.  Jairo Martinez pitched three innings, allowing an unearned run on two hits and two walks with one strikeout.  Miguel Mendez was 2-for-3 with a walk.

Key inning:  The eighth.  It was a scoreless tie.  Montesino got a one-out single, stole second, went to third on a wild pitch, and scored on a Dubal Baez sacrifice fly.
