  1. That was really interesting. It both sounded like them and didn't at the same time. The singer* definitely sounded like herself, which is such a big part of their sound. But the guitar had that extra little flutter** there that made it sound, to me anyway, a bit more poppy. The more upbeat songs of theirs I'm thinking of, at least from "My Maudlin Country", use more horns than guitar.

    *In my head, I guess I always thought the girl on the over of "Let's Get Out Of This Country" was the singer. Unless she's just gotten a haircut in the last 6 years.

    **I do not know the proper musical term for this.
