ORIENTE 3, ESTE 2 IN ORIENTE
Twins: Miguel Sano (Oriente) was 1-for-3 with a walk.
Este: Matt Hague (Pittsburgh) was 2-for-3 with a walk and a home run.
Oriente: Alfredo Marte (Arizona) hit a two-run homer. Wirfin Obispo (Atlanta) pitched two shutout innings, giving up no hits and two walks with one strikeout.
The game: Oriente scored two in the fourth to tie the score at two. It stayed there until the ninth, when Alex Valdez walked and was replaced by pinch-runner Eliezer Mesa. He went to second on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Leandro Castro (Philadelphia).
AGUILAS 6, CIBAO 1 IN AGUILAS
Twins: Danny Santana (Aguilas) was 1-for-4 with an RBI.
Cibao: Anthony Aliotti (Oakland) was 1-for-3 with a walk and a home run.
Aguilas: Mike Bianucci (Texas) was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer. Angel Castro (Dodgers) struck out six in 5.1 innings, allowing one run on two hits and three walks.
The game: Cibao scored their run in the second, but Aguilas came back with three in the second and two in the third. The second inning rally featured RBI singles by Francisco Pena (Mets) and Santana, with the third run scoring on a wild pitch. Bianucci hit his two-run homer in the third.
ESCOGIDO 4, LICEY 1 IN ESCOGIDO
Licey: Sean Halton (Milwaukee) was 3-for-3 with a walk and three doubles.
Escogido: Gregory Polanco (Pittsburgh) was 2-for-3 with a walk and a three-run homer, scoring twice. Mauro Gomez (Washington) was 2-for-4 with a double. Sean Nolin (Toronto) pitched 3.1 innings, allowing one run on four hits and three walks with two strikeouts.
The game: Licey scored its lone run in the first. It held up until the fifth, when a three-run homer by Polanco put Escogido ahead. Escogido added an insurance run in the eighth.
