Venezuelan View: Games of November 3

A big homer for Antoan Richardson.  High approval ratings for the Mayora.  Lewwwwww has a big day.

MARGARITA 7, LA GUAIRA 2 IN MARGARITA

Twins:  Antoan Richardson (Margarita) was 1-for-4 with a two-run homer.

La Guaira:  Alex Cabrera was 2-for-3 with a walk and a home run (his second), driving in two.  Yorfrank Lopez struck out two in two perfect innings.

Margarita:  Cesar Hernandez (Phladelphia) was 2-for-4 with a double, scoring twice and driving in one.  Luis Chirinos pitched 5.1 innings, allowing one run on three hits and four walks with four strikeouts.

The game:  Cabrera hit an RBI single to give La Guaira a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, but Margarita came back with two in the bottom of the first and led the rest of the way.  Richardson hit a two-run homer in the third to make it 4-1 and Adam Duvall (San Francisco) hit a two-run homer in the sixth to make it 6-1.

CARACAS 7, ANZOATEGUI 0 IN CARACAS

Twins:  Eduardo Escobar (Anzoategui) was 1-for-4.

Anzoategui:  Balbino Fuenmayor was 2-for-4 with a double.  Leslie Anderson (Tampa Bay) was 2-for-2 with two walks.  Cory Aldridge was 2-for-4.

Caracas:  Daniel Mayora was 2-for-3 with a double and a home run (his sixth), driving in three.  Jesus Aguilar (Cleveland) was 2-for-4 with a three-run homer (his eighth) and two runs.  Tiago Da Silva struck out four in 4.2 innings, allowing six hits and one walk.

The game:  Caracas scored one in the second on a double play and two in the third on a two-run double by Mayora.   A four-run fifth, which featured a three-run homer by Aguilar and a solo shot by Mayora, put the game out of reach.

MAGALLANES 16, ARAGUA 0 IN MAGALLANES

Twins:  Oswaldo Arcia (Aragua) was 0-for-3.  Ray Olmedo (Aragua) was 1-for-3.  Jermaine Mitchell (Aragua) was 0-for-2 with a walk.  Dakota Watts (Aragua) pitched one inning, giving up two runs on one hit and one walk.

Aragua:  Guillermo Quiroz was 1-for-2 with a double.

Magallanes:  Lew Ford was 4-for-5 with a home run (his third), scoring three times and driving in two.  Adonis Garcia (Yankees) was 3-for-6 with a double, scoring three times and driving in one.  Mitch Lively (San Francisco) pitched six innings, allowing two hits and one walk with four strikeouts.

The game:  Magallanes scored five runs in each of the first two innings.

ZULIA 2, LARA 1 IN ZULIA

Lara:  Paulo Orlando (Kansas City) was 2-for-4 with a run.  Anthony Vasquez (Seattle) pitched four innings, giving up two unearned runs on four hits and four walks with four strikeouts.

Zulia:  Ender Inciarte (Arizona) was 1-for-2 with two walks.  Cesar Valdez struck out seven in six innings, allowing one run on four hits and no walks.

The game:  Zulia scored two runs in the third on an error and made the lead stand up.  Lara started the seventh with three singles, scoring once and putting the tying run in scoring position with none out.
