Danny Santana has a good day.  Everybody likes Pie in Oriente.

ORIENTE 5, ESCOGIDO 3 IN ORIENTE

Twins:  Jorge Polanco (Escogido) was 0-for-3 with a walk.  Deibinson Romero (Escogido) was 1-for-4.  Chris Herrmann (Oriente) was 1-for-3 with a walk and scored twice.

Escogido:  James McCann (Detroit) was 1-for-2 with a walk and a triple, scoring once and driving in one.  Freddy Guzman (Tampa Bay) was 1-for-3 with a walk and a triple, scoring once and driving in one.

Oriente:  Felix Pie (Pittsburgh) was 3-for-3 with a walk and double, driving in one.  Enerio Del Rosario pitched two shutout innings, allowing one hit and one walk.

The game:  Triples by McCann and Guzman keyed a three-run third that put Escogido ahead 3-0.  It was all Oriente the rest of the way.  Pie singled in one in the bottom of the third, a two-run fifth tied the score, and in the sixth, an error brought in the go-ahead run and an Audy Ciriaco single drove home an insurance run.  Escogido did not get a hit the rest of the game.

ESTE 8, AGUILAS 2 IN AGUILAS

Twins:  Danny Santana (Aguilas) was 2-for-4 with a home run.

Este:  Hector Gomez (Milwaukee) was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.  Jim Adduci (Texas) was 2-for-4 with a walk and two doubles, scoring twice and driving in one.  Elih Villaneuva (Miami) pitched six shutout innings, giving up three hits and one walk with one strikeout.

Aguilas:  Andy Marte (Angels) was 2-for-4 with a double and a run.  Kelvin Villa pitched two shutout innings, allowing two hits and no walks with one strikeout.  Frank Batista (Cubs) pitched two shutout innings, allowing two hits and no walks with one strikeout.

The game:  Leading 2-0, Este scored five in the third to put it away early.  Two of the runs scored on a Gomez double.
