AGUILAS 8, ORIENTE 4 IN AGUILAS
Twins: Chris Herrmann (Oriente) was 0-for-2. Danny Santana (Aguilas) was 0-for-1. He reached on an error in the first inning and was instantly replaced by a pinch-runner.
Oriente: Junior Lake (Cubs) was 3-for-4 with a double and a home run. Felix Pie (Pittsburgh) was 2-for-3 with a home run.
Aguilas: Juan Lagares (Mets) was 4-for-4 with a walk and a double, scoring twice and driving in two. Audry Perez (St. Louis) was 2-for-3 with a walk and a double, scoring twice. Andy Marte (Angels) was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
The game: Aguilas scored two in the first and two in the second to go up 4-0. Oriente came back with three in the fourth as Pie and Lake hit back-to-back-homers. In the bottom of the fourth, Aguilas got two more on doubles by Perez and Lagares and a single by Zoilo Almonte (Yankees). The teams traded runs in the sixth and Aguilas added an insurance run in the eighth.
LICEY 10, CIBAO 5 IN LICEY
Cibao: Jonathan Diaz was 3-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in one. Alexander Guerrero (Dodgers) was 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs. Maikel Franco (Philadelphia) was 2-for-4 with a run.
Licey: Juan Francisco (Milwaukee) was 3-for-4 with a walk and two doubles, scoring once and driving in four. Dee Gordon (Dodgers) was 3-for-5 with a double and two runs. Tuffy Gosewisch (Arizona) was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs.
The game: Guerrero hit a two-run double in a three-run second that put Cibao up 3-0. Licey came back with two in the second, took the lead 4-3 in the third on a two-run double by Francisco, and got two more in the fourth on another two-run double by Francisco. It was 8-3 after seven. Each team scored twice in the eighth.
