One inning decided both games.  Four bases-loaded walks were involved in one of them.

PONCE 3, CAROLINA 0 IN PONCE (GAME 1--SCHEDULED 7 INNINGS)

Carolina:  Willie Collazo pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up two hits and one walk.  Orlando Alfonso pitched two shutout innings, giving up no hits and one walk with two strikeouts.

Ponce:  Christian Colon (Kansas City) was 2-for-2 with a walk.  Henry Ramos (Boston) was 2-for-3 with a run.  Ryuji Ichioka pitched five innings, allowing two hits and one walk with three strikeouts.

The game:  All the runs came in the second inning.  Jordan Lennerton (Detroit) hit a solo homer and Geraldo Valentin hit a two-run double.

CAROLINA 7, PONCE 3 IN PONCE (GAME 2--SCHEDULED 7 INNINGS)

Carolina:  Jesus Feliciano was 2-for-3 with a double, scoring once and driving in three.  Osvaldo Martinez (Dodgers) was 2-for-4.  Ruben Gotay was 1-for-1 with three walks, scoring once and driving in one.

Ponce:  Jordan Lennerton (Detroit) was 2-for-3 with a double and a run.  Christian Colon (Kansas City) was 2-for-3 with a run.  Eddie Camacho pitched three shutout innings, allowing two hits and one walk with one strikeout.

The game:  Ponce got two in the second, but Carolina came back to score all seven of its runs in the fourth.  Carolina drew six walks in the inning, five of them consecutively and four of them with the bases loaded.  Feliciano hit a two-run single in the inning.
