I love how there is absolutely no pretense that they are lipsyncing. There isn't even any microphones for the singer!
I enjoy the keyboard player really hamming it up, too.
Yeah, another song even begins to start at the end of this one.
And you wonder where Paul Westerberg got his 'don't give a shit' attitude.
Westerberg was lip-synching the whole time?
Music, you know, true music, not just rock 'n' roll, it chooses you. It lives in your car, or alone, listening to your headphones -- you know, with the vast, scenic bridges and angelic choirs in your brain. It is a place apart from the vast, benign lap of America. Did you know that "The Letter" by The Box Tops was a minute and 58 seconds long? Means nothing. Nil. But it takes them less than two minutes to accomplish what Jethro Tull takes hours to not accomplish! -- Lester Bangs, Almost Famous
I feel like you could screen cap just about any part of this and turn it into a "Look at all the fucks I give" meme.
That aside, I dug the song.
Lead singer looks like Rob Thomas and young Rod Stewart had a baby.
I thought he looked like whatshisname from The Breakfast Club.
Ally Sheedy?
Was going to say Judd Nelson, but you nailed it.
The first time I heard this song was in a commercial for Wheel of Fortune with the lyric's "Vanna turn me a letter."
I still can't get past that to like this song.
I'm sure the first time I heard this song was sitting on the school bus in 1968.
there was commercial for The Wheel that used the song 'Girl Watcher' and changed it to 'Wheel watcher'. "Vanna, turn me a letter" sounds like something from a Weird Al song.

Great song, hilarious "performance".
