Players of the Week: April 28–May 4

Some repeat winners.

ROCHESTER

Position player:  Chris Parmelee wins the award for the third consecutive week.  He was 6-for-19 with three doubles, three home runs, and three walks.  For the season he is hitting .333/.395/.600 in 105 at-bats.

Pitcher:  Yohan Pino wins the award for the second time in three weeks.  He pitched a complete game shutout, giving up three hits and no walks with four strikeouts.  For the season he is 5-0, 0.84, 0.69 WHIP with 7 walks and 31 strikeouts in 32 innings.

NEW BRITAIN

Position player:  Kennys Vargas was 5-for-17 with three home runs and six walks.  For the season he is hitting .287/.382/.521 in 94 at-bats.

Pitcher:  Tyler Duffey wins his second consecutive award with two different teams.  In his AA debut, he pitched six innings, giving up four hits and one walk with five strikeouts.

FORT MYERS

Position player:  Levi Michael was 12-for-29 with three doubles, two triples, and three stolen bases.  For the season he is hitting .318/.370/.430 in 107 at-bats.

Pitcher:  Jason Wheeler pitched 14.2 innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on nine hits and one walk with eight strikeouts.  For the season, he is 2-2, 2.78, 1.32 WHIP with 19 strikeouts in 32.2 innings.

CEDAR RAPIDS

Position player:  Logan Wade was 8-for-19 with five doubles.  For the season he is hitting .290/305/.441 in 93 at-bats.

PItcher:  Ryan Eades made two starts, pitching eleven innings and giving up no runs on six hits and three walks with eleven strikeouts.  For the season, he is 3-3, 2.87, 1.31 WHIP with 29 strikeouts in 31.1 innings.

    Huh, Levi Michael is actually doing okay. Of course he should be, since he's probably two years older than most of the other players.

    1. I wonder how I'd do. I'm significantly older than most of the other players!

  2. I would be okay with Parmelee taking Herrmmann's place, I think. I'm not sure we need a third catcher as badly as everyone says.
