1. Interesting "groups". Anyone got any idea how they get separated into those?

         See, if Herrmann was still around instead of Parmelee, then we could've had an "all-catchers" group 2 and an "all-SS group 3".

         And I'm going with "all-statues" for group 1.

         1. Willingham could switch between statues and catchers and Plouffe could do the same between statues and shortstops. Mauer, Plouffe, Parmelee and Hicks could make an all first-rounder group.

      2. Back maybe? Could explain why he's at DH today.

         1. He's said that his back isn't 100% but it's good enough to play now. With the big deficit, Gardy probably wanted to take it easy on him and then today is a day game after a night game so gave him lighter load of DH. I'd prefer Mauer to DH against the lefty yesterday, however.

7. This Phil Hughes guy is okay.

8. 8 strikeouts, 0 walks. I'm thinking Hughes was a good pickup.

   1. Coulda gone 7 innings, too, if Boegarts weren't a dick.

       1. Gameday showed them as basically over the wall, but the after-the-fact view makes them more closely match what you said.

18. I don't know about anyone else, but Jamie Hersch has been growing on me. She's articulate, upbeat, and asks pretty decent questions when she does player interviews.

    1. She's a LOT better this year than she was last year, I think. She also handles opposing team's players pretty well.

    1. Clearly the Twins knew they had to publicly rip him so he could get the game winning hit today. Just like they drew it up.

       Also, I love this.

       1. How do you know what you want to do without a plan? I think Sinker didn't have a plan for that tweet.

          1. Sounds like someone hasn't spent much time in corporate America.

             1. Me or Sinker? I do nothing but listen to corporate earnings calls all day.

       2. Reading some other things written about Hicks, this sounds like a communication issue. Similar to Anderson's "pitch to contact" meaning to just throw strikes, it isn't that Hicks is laid back but not properly preparing himself for games.
