2014 Game 78: Minnesota Twins at Texas Rangers

Kevin Correia
v
Nick Tepesch

The Twins aren't doing so great. The Rangers aren't doing so great. The Twins were just swept by the Angels. The Rangers were just swept by the Tigers and the Angels before that plus dropped the final two against the Athletics.

I'm predicting another sweep for the Twins. No reason to let any optimism back to the Rangers.

  1. I'm disappointed that Polanco isn't in the lineup. He's here; we might as well take a look at him. We know all we need to know about Pedro Florimon.

    1. Gardy said on the radio pre-game that he won't be afraid to use Polanco "if Florimon struggles". Florimon is currently hitting .096. I'm not sure what Gardy's definition of "struggling" is, but if Florimon's not doing it now, I don't want to see it when he does.

        1. He's 0-for-8 since being called up. He hit .230 in AAA. He may improve over .096--he almost has to--but he's never hit, and he's not going to hit.

  2. Okay, okay. You're the man, you're the man, you're the man. No need to keep going on about it.

  3. Josh Willingham now tied for 63rd place all time in hit by a pitch with 108.

  4. Bremer with a good call on that last pitch, something along the lines of: Tepesch was all over the place that inning, but saved his best pitch to strike out Ecsobar

  5. Wait wait wait wait wait. You mean to tell me that there are games that don't involve the Yankees and Red Sox tonight?

  6. It's been a while* since we had a game end with a RISP and Mauer in the on deck circle. Just like old times!
