Shoemaker also has a 3.15 xFIP, so it doesn't appear that he's been "lucky" on balls in play or anything. The biggest difference for him from the minors to the majors is he's cut his walks in half while maintaining a good K rate. Going from the PCL to Angel Stadium as your home would probably make it easier to challenge batters.
Triple to start? That's our Nolasco!
Yeah, but Arcia played the ball off the wall wrong and scooted past him
Guh. At least I'm not going to be here long. I have plans tonight.
Hmm, maybe I will regret missing this one.
Nolasco is pitching. You'll miss the beatdown.
+1 well worn WGOM buck
ORLANDO GARCIA!!!
HRcia!!!
Oh, c'mon- let Pinto have a stolen base.
Yankees four games out of the second wild card spot. I would love it so much if the two wild card teams came from a not-East division.
I just saw that a couple hours ago. Im like, when did the Yankees start winning games?
I miss those trademark Mauer hot streaks.
You mean like the first two weeks of August when he batted .340/.456/.574?
yes. that was a month ago.
Pinto, please don't test Trout's arm again.
Twins refuse to be Nolasco'd tonight
Pinto must be borrowing Escobar's bat tonight
Tonight Ben Revere gets his second career HR
Unfortunately I see a sac fly in our future...
nope, even worse
*sigh* bullpen'd again.
calling it a night. I wasn't able to get in a word edgewise in tonight's game log anyway.
this game is still on . huh
whoa, Trout didnt catch it!
PLOUFFE
PLOUFFE!!
Ben Revere hit a HR tonight, Trout misses a catch
crazy night!
Revere also battling Morneau for the NL Batting Title. Or so Provus told me earlier tonight.
Coming into the tonights games, Revere is 1 at .314 Morneau 2 at .312
I've also noticed those two great former leaders for the Twins have led the Rockies to a worse record than the Twins (at least so far).
It was a good run for Jared Burton. But time for a new reliever next year
The bullpen outside of Perkins is below average. Burton is getting old and Fien has become hittable after deciding he didn't need to get so many strikeouts (my head hurts). Hopefully, Tonkin and Oliveros can fill in as hard-throwing middle relievers and Pressly has looked better than he did last year. Can't wait for the likes of Burdi and Melotakis to get up here. The bullpen is better than the starters, but it isn't nearly as good as the Twins announcers would want you to believe.
Yeah. I think next year there will be a huge turnover in the pen.
Gone: Duensing, Burton, .. um everyone but Perkins and Thielbar
Perhaps Trevor May slides to that long reliever role. I know he is young, but maybe he can be a better version of Deduno.
Don't give up on May as a starter yet. I know he hasn't looked particularly good, but it's only five starts. There are plenty of good starters who struggled when they first came up. Let's give him some time, especially given what the alternatives are.
Yeah, I mean Im not sold on my own idea. hahah
But I think I would rather have May in the majors in a bit role than having him in the minors. The starting rotation next year (barring trades/retirements/etc of course)
Nolasco
Hughes
Gibson
Pelfrey is under contract
_______ /I suppose a mixture of May/Meyer/Berrios/FA/Unknown
I suppose a Kris Johnson type pitcher is in the mix for a bullpen slot next year
Tommy Milone would be in that mix as well.
Sorry I missed it. Instead, the wife tricked me into going to the h.s.
football gamepep band performance. 55-0 loss on the field, but our band dominated.Ouch. My wife's and kids' school was winless last year, but they managed to win their first home game tonight. Obviously, me being asked to announce the games this year made all the difference.
Potter County has been undefeated since I started announcing their games last year. Coincidence? Well, maybe, but some might argue otherwise.
this could become a game loss meme picture right here.
um...no.
