After seeing that fingerprint word article, it got me curious about the fingerprint words of the Citizens here. The long list below is not quite that, but it is close. What follows are the five most used words for each Citizen after removing the 250 most common words of the site. Due to the simple word extraction I used, contractions lose their apostrophe. That means "wouldn't" will show up as "wouldn".
About half of these are absolute gems and couldn't be more perfect. Some of them make me sad because they are referencing players who haven't been in Minnesota for years.

That was my thought, too.
I wonder if Stick will return come NBA season. Though really just need content that can be linked to on other sites to get fresh blood.

Ubelmann signal.
I picked myself out. Surprised that "Surprised" and "Probably" aren't in the list.
They might have been in the 250 most common.
No and yes respectively. Oh, one other thing I just remembered: words had to be at least four letters long to count.

That list is interesting in itself.
Beer is not in the top 250? I have work to do.
Beer ranked #258.
A website of mostly guys talking sports about mostly terrible teams and of the top 250 common words used and the 340 fingerprint words, only one is an expletive (cheaptoy!)? That's remarkable in its own right.
After a playoff game a few years ago (playoffs? that had to have been a while ago), we all agreed to tone it down a bit, and for the most part, that's stuck. I would have been pretty surprised if any expletives made it into the top 250.
Remember, beer was 258th. Any expletive has beer to beat out that and it's beer not happening beer at all beer beer.
Proud to have the filthiest mouth around here.
I assume most of those "hell"s are from your FMD lists.
Same with "black"
There's a good chance of that, although a lot of the "hell"s probably also come from me getting auto-corrected when I use an i-whathaveyou. As in, "ah hell, stupid auto-correct."
Oh, come now. You were here for that game. Geoff takes that title, easy.
But wasn't that at the old basement? I was referring to here. *waves hand in a circle*
(But man, that particular game log was something else, eh?)
That was Geoff, during the 2009 ALDS. It was at Stick's old digs.
We've been much cleaner since then.
we all agreed to tone it down a bit, and for the most part, that's stuck. Heh.
It was practically a simulpost, too. I laughed out loud.

Another layer of awesome!
I wonder where "sean is awesome" placed.
What about Joe Schultz's word?
Assuming it is composed of the first two words in the table, it has never been uttered in this basement.
there are (now) 22 total references to "Joe Schultz" in comments. I'm proud to say I accounted for 17.
My personal favorite comes courtesy of our resident pastor, however.
cheaptoy's word
Love it.
I'd love to see my rank on the f-word list. Behind Andrew, probably, but not many others. Or maybe I'm behaved here, and naughty only at the CdL?
Eh, whatever. I swear a bit, so sue me.
Eh, whatever. I swear a bit, so [redacted] sue me.
[redacted]FTFY
I didn't say it bothers me.
Words from comments and posts or just comments?
Just comments.
This is awesome! (I'm pretty sure awesome is one of my fingerprint words)
Unsurprisingly, Voices and Guided are two of yours.
I remember my first year on facebook, there was a thing that would put together your most-used words during the year. That year:
1. Ha
2. Tonka
#1 was exactly twice as common as #2.
...tonka
Went through the list, got 12 of them (brianS, myself, Dread Pirate, meat, NBB, Carter Hayes, SBG, Jeff A, Spookymilk, DanekasGhost, FreeAlonzo, and RhubarbRunner).
The only reason I didn't get DK was that I wasn't thinking of one of the words as a band name. A number of them were obvious after the fact.
This is completely awesome.
I know what it's like
To be passed over
To go unnoticed
To be clumsy get things wrong
And I know what it's like
To arrive too late
To be told to leave
To be walked upon
I guess I should probably be a little bit more surprised that #1 on my list is hate.
I'm surprised it wasn't in the top 250 on your and Beau's usage alone.
I got mine thanks to the other four words. Did not realize I use "hate" so much since I thought I didn't like that word. It's so hyperbolic.
It's so hyperbolic.
That's why it's the greatest thing evah.
sean - I enjoyed this. During the next caucus, I'm buying you a beer. A look at my past usage suggests that I correct or further explain myself a lot.
Sean,
This is great.
Next step to really make things "fingerprints" is to get to which words are truly characteristic of individual's "speech".
"Kids" is in ten top fives. "Beer" in six.
These in four: anyway, average, gardy, house, okay, points, songs, white, williams
I don't really think that I use the word "sort" that often. I'm trying to think of where I might have said it a whole bunch of times.
I see it twice right there.
Maybe fixing a brref style table?
Possible. In a previous edition Mags' had tr and td at the top because of creating tables. I stripped out HTML after that and added minimum word lengths to combat that.
I haven't made that many tables, though, so I don't think it's that.
Better theory: "sort" as in "sort of"?
That was my thought as well.
Yeah, I might do a part 2 if it's not too difficult to determine unique words.
Of those I consider "regulars" here, DavidWatts has the most unique list with only one word shared and with only one person.
Among the most regular regulars...
Pepper and Dread Pirate share one word with one and another with two
Freealonzo and JeffA share one word with three others.
Pepper: "reading" with New Guy, "books" with New Guy and bhiggum
Pirate: "absolutely" with Zack, "during" with Can of Corn and Whiffers
JeffA: "gardy" with SoCal and seels58
Free: "songs" with me, Nibs, and Phil.
Using my simple scoring method, brianS has the most repeated words (I'm second).
bS shares each of his words with at least one person, and has the top two and one of those tied for third.
Intro Intro Intro. Gotta keep that good thing goin'.
Intro? Intro!
I am either pathetically common or a community builder. Or both.
This is very cool. I am not surprised by mine.
I actually first mistook yours for mine. But I wasn't surprised when I saw it was you.
I mistook his for yours, as well. If it had included "Karen", it would've been easier.
I did love me some D-Span. Maybe I was the one holding him back.
This. Is. Awesome.
Agreed - awesome. Don't watch the TED video on 'Awesome'.
I so wanted "Gaga" to be one of Milt on Tilt's fingerprint words.
I think most of that was when we were gathering in Stick's old basement.
Fingerprint words reveal my alter ego! Williams?
Derrick, I'm assuming. Yours seems to lean heavily T-wolves.
I'm only just now seeing this. I AM IN LOVE
I thought cheaptoy's list might be mine. Then I found mine, and wasn't surprised.
I'm a bit late to the party as well. I'm a little bit surprised that chop is in the list. I must spend a lot of time talking up the good Dr. The other four are words I use almost every day.
Sean, this is amazing!
If you don't want to click through each of the 68 spoilers to find yourself, here's a list.
A case of beer says this is an above-average bit, college boy.
Great minds and all that.
About half of these are absolute gems and couldn't be more perfect. Some of them make me sad because they are referencing players who haven't been in Minnesota for years.
