  1. The oldest nephew was up most of the night tossing up his evening meal (along with all the drinks) just like last year -- food poisoning, this time. I guess it's an Atlantic Coast visit tradition for him?

  2. Danny Santana has scored 65 runs in 93 games.

I dont care where he plays, keep the kid in the lineup!

  3. What in Sam Hill are those guys in the Diet Dew/Dale Jr. commercial hunting?
Muscovy Ducks and Swan Geese? They couldn't even find domestic Mallards and Canada Geese? Or even white domestic geese that could pose as Snow Geese?

    1. I re-watched it now online.
Black Swans, too. A few Mallards in the wide shots, but not in anything close.
Obvs not advertising to duck hunters or outdoorsy types.

          1. Semi-official word:

Initially, third-base umpire and crew chief Larry Vanover ruled Perez tagged up, prompting Tigers manager Brad Ausmus to argue for a review. After a lengthy conference, Vanover headed over to the headphones to talk with replay officials in New York.
According to the FOX broadcast, Vanover was told the play was not reviewable, leaving the umpires to decide amongst themselves. However, the replay showed on the scoreboard at Kauffman Stadium, and the groan from the sellout crowd made it clear Perez never touched third base.
The call was reversed, and the error was taken away from Suarez. Perez was out, the inning was over, and the game stayed tied until Tyler Collins' pinch-hit RBI single pulled the Tigers ahead in the top of the seventh inning.

            Doubleyou. Tee. Eff. Question mark.

  4. Speaking of beer, You have any ideas for using up a bunch of dark toasted french oak chips in a recipe cheaps? I had to 'age' a white spirit with a bit of oak and have a lot of left overs.

    1. I haven't done much with oak outside of a stout and an IPA, so those are the only two suggestions I have. Maybe you could have a moment of insanity and oak a wheat or a pilsner, or something.

      1. ipa, eh? I generally feel like I've had an allergy attack after consuming wheat beers, so I'll pass on that insanity.

        1. Yeah, we had some chunks left over from the stout and figured it'd be a good idea. We forgot to sanitize them though. It actually ended up tasting alright, shockingly.
