Did Showalter show that he's pretty much given up? I mean, he used a starter not deemed good enough to be one of his first four starters in the final three innings of a game he trailed by one run and he had to win. It worked out and now he has his best relievers rested for three days, but what are you saving them for? This was a game they had to win, right? I guess the counter argument is that they "could" still lose this game and win the series and it would be worse to use them still lose the game and not have them available in one of the next four games they absolutely have to win now. Still, I always thought that in the playoffs you should never save anything for tomorrow when you're back is to the wall. Saving your best relievers for another day when you're facing a 3-0 deficit doesn't seem very smart.
Im guessing he wanted to keep them for extra innings, to tilt the bullpen battle his way.
Go Royals Go!
No commentary on the day game today? The twitters tell me that there was a walk-off bunt or summat.
Yeah, bunted down the third baseline, Randy Choate picked it up and threw the ball into the San Francisco bay.
That was a nice catch by the moose
Seriously. The Royals can play some D.
Defense wins championships.
Run prevention, really. However you do it (defense and/or pitching).
They do seem to have uncanny timing.
The Royals are unstoppable.
puppies!

But I agree with you.
