Home runs abound in Zulia.

CARACAS 11, ZULIA 7 IN ZULIA

Twins:  Ryan O'Rourke pitched two-thirds of an inning, giving up two runs on two hits for Zulia.  He was credited with his fourth hold of the season.

Caracas:  Jesus Aguilar (Cleveland) was 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, scoring twice and driving in four.  Carlos Perez (Houston) was 4-for-5 with a home run (his third) and three RBIs.  Victor Larez (Detroit) struck out two in two perfect innings.

Zulia:  Jose Pirela (Yankees) was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer (his third) and a triple, scoring twice.  Aaron Altherr (Philadelphia) was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer (his third).  Silvino Bracho (Arizona) struck out two in a scoreless inning, allowing a walk.

The game:  Altherr's homer in the fourth put Zulia up 7-3.  It was 7-5 after five.  In the sixth, Aguilar hit a three-run homer, followed by Daniel Mayora's (Dodgers) solo shot that put Caracas ahead 9-7.  Caracas added two more in the ninth on a Perez two-run homer.
