Jose Ruiz' two-run homer lifts Licey.  A Ramon Ortiz sighting!

LICEY 4, ESTE 1 IN ESTE

Twins:  Chris Parmelee was 0-for-3 with a walk.

Licey:  Juan Francisco (Toronto) was 1-for-2 with a double and two walks, scoring once and driving in one.  Jose Ruiz (San Diego) was 1-for-3 with a two-run homer, his second.  Ramon Ortiz--yes, that one--pitched five innings, giving up an unearned run on three hits and two walks with three strikeouts.

Este:  Mayo Acosta (Tampa Bay) was 1-for-2 with a walk.  Claudio Vargas pitched five innings, allowing two runs on three hits and a walk with four strikeouts.

The game:  Este scored once in the fourth, but Ruiz hit a two-run homer in the fifth to give Licey a 2-1 lead.  A single, three walks, and a sacrifice fly produced two runs in the ninth to insure a Licey victory.
