Dominican Digest: Games of November 6

A-Mart (as he probably isn't called) and Sugar Ray (as he is called) lead Aguilas to victory.

AGUILAS 12, CIBAO 1 IN AGUILAS

Twins:  Jeremias Pineda pinch-hit and struck out for Cibao.

Cibao:  Wilson Betemit (Tampa Bay) was 2-for-3 with a home run, his second.  Jonathan Diaz (Toronto) was 0-for-1 with three walks.  Rafael Perez (Pittsburgh) pitched two shutout innings, giving up only a walk.

Aguilas:  Andy Marte (Arizona) was 2-for-3 with two home runs (his fourth and fifth) and a walk, scoring three times.  Zoilo Almonte (Yankees) was 2-for-5 with a two-run homer.  Sugar Ray Marimon (Kansas City) struck out six in four innings, allowing one run on six hits and two walks.

The game:  Leading 3-1 after five, Aguilas scored five in the sixth to put the game out of reach.  The inning featured one of Marte's homers and also a double steal of second and home.
