I'm not well versed in Springsteen, but I do really like this song. I should look into his stuff.
Get Born to Run. Arguably his finest moment, and one of the seminal albums in Rock and Roll history.
Also, Craig Finn owes much of his charm to that record.
Bootlegs from his '78 Tour are some of my very favorite recordings. He already had an incredible 4 records to pick songs from, his band was en fuego, and Bruce was lean and hungry.
(I also think I might have played "BtR" at the old place, a 1975 recording from London. I could be wrong--I may have played "Thunder Road" from that show.)
I like his live stuff much better than the studio recordings.
I might have to agree with you, though his live versions of "Born to Run" never quite lived up to that Phil Spectoresque wall of sound studio version.
Yeah, I was debating between this version, and the one from this concert. Felt the `78 recording had a little more pop.
That's the one I thought I played in Stick's basement. What a show that was.
Fun fact: E-6 has left comments on all three renditions of "Born to Run." And now I have as well.
